Republic of Aleksania Elections 2010

Once again, it is that time of year in Aleksania, Election time! This year, it is a executive election year. Also, this is a historic year in Aleksanian political history, as it is the first time an independent candidate (Hanna Titov) has made it to the final voting for executive office. You may choose to vote below if you would like, but it will only be as expressing your opinion. (there will be no correlation (directly) between your vote and the election results) So here are the candidates:

Aleksania Republic Party (ARP; Conservative)

EcoAleksania Party (ECOROA; Similar to the US Green Party)

Democracy Aleksania Party (DAP; Liberal)

Independent (No Party)

The actual election has been going on since this morning, and will continue until 10pm tonight, start up again tomorrow at 8am, and go until noon.

Yeah, but at the end, it's you who choose the next president, for me, I want to make the People's choice. AIN members will be like the pop of Lydosia. The choice is yours!

2010 Republic of Aleksania Election Results

The winner of the election is, as expected, Aleksandr Dziubla Facco. But in a very unexpected move, he appointed Hanna Titov, the independent canidate, as Cheif of State, a possition normaly reserved for someone of the same party. This is the first time in Aleksanian history that this has happened. At a official press confrence, he explains, "I thought Hanna was the best choice for the possition. I think she can bring many new ideas to this administration. Also, I beleve that lately, we have been caught up to much in which party gets the most power, not what person is best for the position. I admit to falling prey to this in my last term. I think we should focas on who is best for the job, just like if you were going for a job interview."
