Tirnreich Sports Journal Empty Simlympic Update

Post by Liberater444 19th August 2010, 18:45

Simlympics-Day 3 Update

CHIHIRO, Petrova- It's been three days since the amazing opening ceremony of 2010 Simlympic Games, and the Tirnlander team is doing its part! The following is a rundown of the events and placement of the team in the events they participated in.

Day 1
Women's Archery Team- Lost Fornax, 190-202 (Quarter Finals)

The First day of competitions saw the Women's Archery team pitted against Fornax's, ultimately losing by 12 points in the quarter finals round. While eliminated, the young ladies can feel good that they've made it this far.

Day 2
Men's Archery Team- Won Ascadylea, 215-209 (Quarter Finals)

The Second day of the games was the initial day of Men's Team Archery. The Tirnlander Archery team had a great match with Ascadylea, ending with a victory for the Imperials with a close spread of 6 points. They advanced onto the Semi Finals round here in Azovo on Day 3.

Day 3
Men's Archery Team- Won Aeropoli 211-181 (Semi Finals)
Lost Fornax, 199-216 (Gold Medal Match)

On the Third day, Men's Team Archery held the Semi Finals and the Gold and Bronze Medal Matches. The Tirnlander team made their country proud by beating Aeropoli by 30 points, leading the Semi Finals group in score, with the next closest being Fornax with 208.

It all came down to Tirnreich vs. Fornax for the Gold Medal Match. The Tirnlanders gave them a good fight, but lost by 17 points, ending with a score of 199, and going home with Silver medals.

Day 1-3 Analysis
Here in Azovo, the Tirnlander Archery teams did a great job battling the other nations for the coveted Gold medal. The Women's Team had an unfortunate early loss against the Archery powerhouse Fornax, not advancing past the Quarter finals.

The Tirnlander team had a great run as well, luckily not facing Fornax until the finals, where they were able to pull out a Silver medal, respectable against the Fornaxians. So it's needless to say that the Tirnreich and Fornax has an archery rivalry going on, but we'll have to wait for the next Archery events to see who will come out on top.

Tirnreich Sports Journal Empty SFL Update

Post by Liberater444 13th September 2010, 07:44

HEKLI, Tirnreich- The Hekli Aviators, the local Amerikaner Fussball team, has announced the creation of a new logo. Portrayed on a shield with a red and gold field, is the Hekli Aviator, a symbol of Tirnlander military power. The Aviator also represents the will to succeed and go to new heights; it shows the true "sky's the limit" attitude of Tirnlanders.

Breakdown
In the first of the day's WD match-ups, the Baden-Stadt Legionnaires face the #3 club from last season, the Hekli Union. The game was underway in the north coast neighborhood of Stadiontown, in Baden-Stadt. Several promising drives eventually got the Union to a goal, as the Legionnaires held them off for 45'. Despite a strong midfield presence, the Legionnaires failed to score any goals, sending the Union home with a win.

The second match saw FC Raumfield at the "Stadium city" of Sudfeld, playing against the All-Stars in Gloriallestadion. A fairly evenly matched game emerged in the first half, while 2 yellow cards were given to All-Stars. [Montford, Bomengrove] At the 79' mark, FC Raumfield's own Josip Marvejzski scored the game-winning goal.

Breakdown
In this week 2 matchup, newcomers the Mokolo Warriors faced off against home team FC Raumfield. Fresh off of a win, Raumfield came with some confidence; "The Big Green" as they're called held off the IFV-noobies in the first half, finally scoring against the former national Jumaanian team in the 46'. Warriors goalkeeper D. Tusso was injured during the play, but returned for the second half. After 44 minutes, Mokolo striker O. Simumoba scored the game-tieing goal, as the game ended in the 93'.

With high expectations, the Hekli Union battled the Sudfeld All-Stars in Hekli's Union Field stadium. The first half hour was back and forth play, but Union midfielder L. Gaansker finally opened up scoring at the 41', giving Hekli the 1-0 lead at the half. The second half saw P. Greaves of the Union concede a foul in his own goalie box, sending the defender off with a red card. All-Star forward Tarbacci had the PK, only to over power the shot, and the ball ricocheted off the upper right corner of the frame, sending it back into play. The Union held off the Sudfeld team, with only one goal to separate the two.

Breakdown
The "Emperor's Own" -nicknamed Nachtsburg Empire welcomed the Guels Park Astronauten to Kaiser Stadion on this gameday, amid a chilly wind. The Empire scored a quick goal in the 13', thanks to H. Gabenheim, after the team conceded a yellow carded foul for a dangerous slide tackle. (M. Pappa) The Astronauten held their own, utilizing their above-average passing game, tiring out the Empire. However, Nachtsburg's defense held strong, keeping the lead as the half came to a close. After the half, the Empire received another goal-scoring opportunity, which B. Tkavonov used to get his first goal of the season. The game's energy seemed to die out after that goal, ending with an Empire victory.

The Republik Stadt Knights FC once again played host, this time to the only non-playoff clinching team from 2010, FC Kaelville. Both teams seemed to be even as the game opened up, with no fouls or goals in the first half. However, FC Kaelville seemed to slow down considerably around the 64', as the Knights seized the moment and scored a quick goal. (K. Bose) The match ended with a loss for FC Kaelville.

Outcome
West Division
FC Raumfield 1-1 Warriors
Union 1-0 All-Stars
