Aleksania Buys Su-35BM

Today, in an agreement with the SimRussian Federation, SimRussia has authorized the sale of 15 new Sukhoi Su-35BM's to the Republic of Aleksania. Normally, this aircraft would be reserved for Russia only, with export versions being technologically downgraded, but do to Aleksania's membership in the SimCIS, Aleksania's longstanding alliance with SimRussia, and Aleksania's longstanding trade relation with SimRussia, SimRussia has made an exeption. The fighters should be delivered by July 2010, just in time for Aleksania's participation in the SimUSAF's operation Red Flag. The pilots are currently being trained on an earlier version of the Su-35, with the SimRussian Air Force. Also, as part of the same deal, Aleksania bought ten refurbished Yakovlev Yak-38 VTOL aircraft. Aleksania says they are to be fitted with a single modified Pratt & Whitney F135 engine, the same used in the F-35.

Also, now it has been said that Aleksania has bought the ex-HMS Invincible from Sim-GB and plans to rename it the RAS-Romanov.
