Concorde - A come-back? Empty Concorde - A come-back?

Post by Blakeway4 22nd January 2010, 20:45

The Concorde is officially off the airs in RW, why won't it be here in AIN also? Why not having it in our fleets? Cheeky/Razz This is my suggestion: Add the Concorde to our fleet and upgrade it with modern engines and machines to transform the Concorde as the most securised aircraft that we can have! xD Remember that the concorde is awsome! LOL

So just awnser this little Poll and after we'll see what happen!

P.S. The Poll is for 14 days, 2 weeks so, don't wait!

It's not really realistic to have Concorde in your fleet when they don't make them anymore and don't fly them anymore. That is my personal opinion though, and it doesn't count for much.
I just think that you should use planes that they still produce. Smile

Cheeky/Razz I know your opinion point, much of you, I am sure, are thinking the same as you Thomas, but hmm, it'll be realistic if there's a COME-BACK, isn't it right?

With a low passenger carrying capacity, I don't think it will be an economical plane. That is my only problem. Even either the A380 or the future B787, both of which are slower than the Concorde, are feasible. So I will have to vote no for this.

-.- hmm woot Cheeky/Razz I called you pessimist because I think the Concorde will come back one day or a style of this airplane, that's why I'm a optimist, but you, you're a pessimist because you don't ever think there's something ever like the Concorde that will come on the market! Cheeky/Razz

Ok well I'm not a member but I'm going to jump in on this.

1. If there was a potential buyer there is no reason that Concorde would not re-open but due to the fact that airlines are not willing to pay for or carry the jet it went under due to safety issues.

2. If we assume that updated safety features would eliminate some of the safety issues that grounded the plane in the first place and make the Concorde a more enticing option.

3. When you consider that the AIN is a world wide union unlike most things the real world sees. In the case where you have nations that are doing very close business that go from the far east to the west and back and forth it is not strange to think that using a supersonic option would be popular amongst the AIN business' men and women.

If this were a real world thing I could see this as a very likely possibility.. but as noted... there are many if's that are included in that.

For the concorde to come back it would have to hold more passengers and cost less to operate.

Wait, if we could get supercruise on a concord (-type?) plane, that could cut down drastically on fuel consuption, thus drastically reducing costs

No, but the thing that takes the most fuel is the afterburner, that just spreys jet fuel on to the jet exsust

Aleks, if you go to wikipedia it says that the concorde frequently used supercruise to go across the atlantic... obviously it didn't help...

Post by Blakeway4 23rd January 2010, 13:25

The awnser is biodiesel?!! LOL kidding, hmm just need to improve the motors and the engines of the Concorde to make it feel better on the air Cheeky/Razz The concorde was a awsome supersonic commercial airplane. It can get you for about 6,300 km in 3 hours! It is also one of the most aerodinamic aircraft ever produced! But there's problems: It consume alot of fuel! And also, it is very high cost to have a seat, due to its consumation. Perhaps, it was used alot in the 90's. But it got crashed too much for the eye of the public so it was considired as a dangerous aircraft, that's why it came out of utilisation.
I think if we modify it, the concorde will have a come-back or there will be something like the DC-10, and they'll put it back on services but with a dfferent name and other new implants, LOL! Everyone know the DC-10 incident?

So I hope there will be a come-back either if it's the Concorde itself, the Concordski or in another supersonic aircraft form!! Cheeky/Razz Hope only it'll be accessible soon and at low cost and consomation.

P.S. The incident with the Concorde will be as the one with the DC-10, there will be a come-back!!

Speaking of the Concorde, I'll try to "design" (maybe "draw an outline" is a better usage Cheeky/Razz) a similar Concorde-type, but under the company of Rasa Transport with a RGS (formerly RIA) livery.
