Despite being in mourning for her mother, the Quebec figure skater, Joannie Rochette, nonetheless took third place in the short program that took place Tuesday night. Before the audience, the world number two has managed a brilliant performance and ranks the 3rd place with a score of 71.36, her best score of the season. After her performance, the woman was then burst into tears that she was acclaimed by the audience.It is the overwhelming favorite of the race, the South Korean Kim Yu-na, aged just 19, who took the provisional top spot. The protected former Canadian champion Brian Orser has established a history of scoring 78.50.The second place went to Japan Mao Asada (73.78).The free program will take place on Thursday evening and it was after this event that medals will be awarded.
