Assassinated Prime Minister is laid to rest in the Royal Gardens

Prime Minister of Ollingdale Thomas Simpson, who was shot dead by terrorists on the 25th July, was laid to rest this morning, after security concerns forced the family to delay his burial and move to a quieter cemetery.
Initially the heads of states from around the world would be arriving in the capital and heading straight to Ollingdale Cathedral, and then on to the family plot in the city. However fears of a terrorist attack on both venues led to the family, friends and national leaders holding the funeral in the Royal Gardens in his home town of Woking.
The burial was reported to have been a "simple but heart-warming" affair and a celebration of his life was held afterwards in his family retreat. Deputy Prime Minister Lord Charles Maybury made a speech calling the late Mr Simpson "a great leader, a loving father and a brilliant friend", after working with him for over a decade within parliament.

The Acting Prime Minister was not present at the funeral, and is believed to be en route to meet the President of the AIN.
