Pre-Voting Stage Empty Pre-Voting Stage

Post by Thomas 18th December 2010, 23:44

Welcome to the penultimate part of this summit conference. Due to the Second Confederacy of Free Regions no longer being in attendance, we will skip the AIN statement. Now we will be debating what to do with the relationship with the 2COFR. Either we:

A) Have no relations at all and pursue a policy of isolationism. No COFR observerships.

B) Neutral relations and live alongside each other without arguments, but with no formal relations or role play. Allow COFR observerships.

C) Neutral relations and pursue a policy of peaceful co-existance, but with no formal relations or role play. No COFR observerships.

D) Pursue a policy of improved relations and co-operate with the 2COFR.

E) Ban all of the COFR and enforce a strict no-tolerance policy against their union and members.

Tomorrow (GMT) we will go to voting on this. Over the next 12 hours or so, I suggest you post any other options you wish to be available, and discuss/debate which one is best. Only AIN members and associate members should post here.

I support option E. This summit has shown both the guilt of the COFR's founders and their unwillingness to admit their wrongdoing - not to mention just how much their newer members have been deceived into believing their leaders' cover-up attempts. We should have nothing to do with them whatsoever.

I agree. Option E. However, the amnesty should still be a part of that.

i believe that the only relations we should have with the COFR 2.0 are via the Simlympics and through SimWorldWide events. We have tried, it was a futile effort. Let's pack up our toys and go home. There is still time, however for some to "see the light" and realize that you have been disillusioned and deceived. But there should be no further effort on our part.

I've made some reflexion. This isn't a "war" between unions. This is one union against a personal revenge. Its AIN against An Idea.

E it is.

We aren't fighting a Union.

I have looked at both sides of this and believe that I have enough info to make an informed decision. (i withdraw my statement of staying out of this)

I like the idea of keeping our amnesty policy. We should definitely be willing to welcome our ex-members back (excluding the COFR2 founders, of course).

I agree with the amnesty, that needs to stay.

Edit: To clarify, those who we gave amnesty to would not be banned permanently, right?

I will say E.

But if they want I think it is fair, and co-operating and it is a good advantage to say D.

Well an amnesty is not possible if we go with E, because we would be banning all of them. Every 2COFR member.
Personally, I support A, because we can keep away from them but also continue the amnesty. The no-tolerance policy could also be included in A.

I think a lot of people like "E with amnesty"....

Maybe we should go back to the drawing board?

How about "F"

Ban all of the COFR and enforce a strict no-tolerance policy against their union and members, but allow amnesty to all COFR members with the exception of Atrubia, Duwamish, New Chandler and the North England Union.

I would say option E, but under the terms that a new amnesty declaration is made which allows former members of the said opposing union to apply for any form of membership at AIN but under an application process that is slightly more scruntinizing (exact details TBA but will include things such as previous wrongdoings towards the union) AND only after denouncing their membership of the other union.
