CFPP to file suit against MREA.
Protests are escalating.

The Coalition for the Proliferation of Peace is preparing to file a lawsuit challenging the Military Redevelopment and Expansion Act (MREA), which seeks to strengthen Illu'an military forces.

The CFPP said in a statement Wednesday that the groups plan to hold a news conference Thursday to discuss the suit. The MREA, one of the most expensive bills ever passed in Illu'a, is scheduled to go at least ₴15 billion over budget.

Last week, the CFPP protested outside of the Congress Building and the Dafter Naval Base seeking to block the purchase of additional attack ships.

Shortly after the MREA passed, House Speaker Sarah Jefferson said the measure had been drafted with care not to go drastically over its intended budget. Jefferson nonetheless conceded that she expected lawsuits.

Who are the CFPP?

The Coalition for the Proliferation of Peace, or the CFPP, is an international organization dedicated to the spread of peace. They oppose conflicts and military spending. CFPP offices are currently located in Illu'a and Syldavia.
