From The Desk Of Public Affairs Empty From The Desk Of Public Affairs : Hurricane Peter

Post by ForthWall 19th April 2011, 05:24

Most of us know that in the recent days a Hurricane (Catagory 3) has hit nations of the Atlantic Federation, Ascadylea, and is heading to nations of Fairview, Llithustania, and others close by.

Information of Category 3 Hurricanes : (Sustained winds 111-130 mph, 96-113 kt, or 178-209 km/hr) There is a high risk of injury or death to people, livestock, and pets due to flying and falling debris. Nearly all older (pre-1994) mobile homes will be destroyed. Most newer mobile homes will sustain severe damage with potential for complete roof failure and wall collapse. Poorly constructed frame homes can be destroyed by the removal of the roof and exterior walls. Unprotected windows will be broken by flying debris. Well-built frame homes can experience major damage involving the removal of roof decking and gable ends. There will be a high percentage of roof covering and siding damage to apartment buildings and industrial buildings. Isolated structural damage to wood or steel framing can occur. Complete failure of older metal buildings is possible, and older unreinforced masonry buildings can collapse. Numerous windows will be blown out of high-rise buildings resulting in falling glass, which will pose a threat for days to weeks after the storm. Most commercial signage, fences, and canopies will be destroyed. Many trees will be snapped or uprooted, blocking numerous roads. Electricity and water will be unavailable for several days to a few weeks after the storm passes.

Current News : On the day of April 16 2011 Hurricane Peter Struck the Atlantic Federation power lines were shot leaving 1,000,000 people without power in 3 of its states, the Hurricane pushed a 29+ foot wall against the coasts. Currently the Hurricane is heading to European Coasts

Remedies : Supply Drops and Aid to affected nations; Citizens of other nations must be immediately airlifted or taken away from disaster area.

Nations to be Hit : Includes Fairview and Llithustania currently

Precautions : Evacuation from coast lines, at least 50 miles away, citizens of other nations may be airlifted or evacuated to farther areas. The Government should be prepared to clean up damaged buildings, power lines, and other infrastructure.

Be prepared for the worst, a storm is a storm. Prepare for the storm by these tips:

  • Enter the season prepared.
  • Know all evacuation routes if you live close to the coast.
  • Make sure your home meets building codes for withstanding hurricanes, and they have storm shutters.
  • Have proper tools, supplies, and a first aid kit.
  • Have plenty of batteries and flashlights
  • Always have plenty of non-perishable foods on hand.

  • Leave low lying areas.
  • Protect windows with plywood boards, or storm shutters.
  • Secure outside objects.
  • Make sure you have plenty of fuel and water.
  • Have several days supply of food and water for each family member.
  • If called to evacuate by you government farther than 50 miles, do so immediately.

  • Be ready to put your plan and preparation into action.
  • Pay attention to local weather reports on radio, television, or the internet.
  • Have house boarded up, or have storm shutters in place.
  • Have plenty of food and water.
  • Make sure all your tools, supplies, and first aid kit available for use.
  • Have a secure room available.

During the Storm please follow these tips:

  • Stay in Secure Room.
  • Stay away from windows.
  • Do not use the phone, or candles.
  • Monitor Weather and Civil Service Bulletins on radio.
  • Have supplies on hand.
  • Remain indoors when the eye moves over your area because the storm will resume shortly.

After the storm has passed, remain in a safe place, stay away from downed power lines or destroyed buildings, and be patient for help.

Remember stay save during these though times

From The Desk Of Public Affairs Empty From The Desk Of Public Affairs : H2N4

Post by ForthWall 21st June 2011, 16:18

Due to the recent outbreak of H2N4 the Department of Public Affairs will order the immediate closure public events for the due time in infected areas.

Current News :
a new variety of flu was detected in Uroboria, where it seemed to be causing an unusually large number of deaths. Fear spread with the virus across continents and ocans, the Alliance Health Organization declared the H2N4. strain of flu to be the first alliance pandemic in 40 years. But as the number of cases rose, estimates of its lethality dropped sharply. Second wave of the virus came to China, a vaccine had been prepared, although it was initially in short supply. Cases are being seen in airports acrose AIN. Hiigara has already 121 documented cases and there are still fights to control it.

Although it is too early to write the obituary for flu, medical experts, already assessing how it was handled, have found that while luck played a part, as still not many countries have seen cases of the flu.

The outbreak highlighted many national weaknesses: old, slow vaccine technology; too much reliance on foreign vaccine factories; some major hospitals pushed to their limits by a relatively mild epidemic. While the former proved highly transmissible in children, it was only rarely lethal, remained susceptible to drugs and has not thus far mutated into an unpredictable monster. Vaccine supply is still a big problem.

It is now clear that this is the least lethal modern pandemic. The flu appears to kill about one of every 2,000 people who get it, Syldavian researchers say. (Cattalian researchers found half that death rate.) By contrast, the Spanish flu of 1918 killed about 50 of every 2,000, and the 1957 and 1968 pandemics killed about 4 of every 2,000.

The flu has reached more than 16 countries. Including Melkian Empire (Hiigaran United Confederacy), Syldavia, West Uroboria, South Uroboria, China, Karasem and other. Many countries still did not give information on the flu in there countries, creating fear of the flu still being not controlled. All comers to the Hiigaran Confederacy are tested and if there are fears of infection are send to the hospital.

Remedies : Closure of large events and gathering in infected areas - vaccine research - vaccine application - treatments

Nations to be Hit :West Uroboria, South Uroboria, Syldavia, Shushtrepistaz, Karasem, Bangorai', Hiigara, Corraile.

Precautions : Avoid contact, call your doctor if your felling sick

Her Majesty's Government and Ministry of Health feels that the public risk is currently LOW in the United Kingdom of Cattala, however we urge restraint and caution when travelling to the affected countries, especially Uroboria. The Crown Prince and Count of Roumeli will not be returning from Hiigara early due to this virus, as the medical risk to the Royal Family remains low.
