Day 1 Empty Day 1

Post by Liberater444 8th January 2010, 02:19

Welcome to Day 1 of Union Summit II.III!

Today, we will examine the amount of emmisions produced by vehicles in the Union.

Today, I ask the Union this question:

What are the current levels of
Carbon-Monoxide
Carbon-Dioxide
Smog...in your city?

Please use:
High
Medium high
average
low

and:

What is the required amount of time that a vehicle needs to be tested?

So I hope you have a successful and fun time here in Nachtsburg!

The Republic of Arcacia has very high standards of automotive care. There are also clean-air policies and emission laws.

Vehicles require registration every year. Part of this involves what is commonly referred to as a Blue Slip (for the colour of the paper used) and is an annual safety/road-worthiness inspection to be carried out by a licensed mechanic and includes an emission test.

Vehicles that have been unregistered and seek re-registration require a White Slip, which is a more extensive inspection.

Cars purchased brand new do not require a Blue Slip for their first 3 years.

High emission vehicles are also subject to an offset levy. For instance, registration will normally cost around $250 on average, plus $25 for the Blue Slip. For a high emission vehicle, such as a Hummer, registration will be closer to $420.

In order to further cut emissions, the use of bicycles is encouraged and public transport is free.

Since 1972, the Republic of Aleksania has required that everytime a car is seviced, its emisions are to be checked (this is effective because all vehicles are required to be servaced at least once a year). If they don't pass the requirements, the owners will be fined $300-$700 depending on the type of vehicle, plus they cost to bring the vehicle up to standards. Also, there is a tax rebate for having an "eco-friendly" vehicle. Also, most public transport is free for Aleksanian residents. Finnaly, Aleksania is in the process of putting bike lanes on all major city streets. This project should be compleat by 2014.

In Escambia currently cars are checked during routine checks at auto repair shops. If they still comply with the standards set for that car nothing is done. If they don't comply. Auto Shop repairs it within 6 months of the finding. And its charged to insurance. In Escambia automotive repairs are covered by insurance

The Universal Fornax have practised great effort on minimizing pollution caused by vehicles in cities. Ever since the 2004 Donaxeration of Fornax Vehicles Emission Act, pollution rate across all cities have gone down dramtically, although it initially cause a stir in 2005 (the obselete higher vehicles tax for older vehicles).

Cardon monoxide
All cities of Fornax: Low
All cities of Rafforsia: Low
All cities of West Borneo: Average

Carbon dioxide
All cities of Fornax: Low
All cities of Rafforsia: Low
All cities of West Borneo: Average

Smog
All cities of Fornax: Mostly Average, the rest Low
All cities of Rafforsia: Low
All cities of West Borneo: Average

Adopted in 2005 and amended in the same year, all vehicles are classified according to its pollution emission rate and are taxed according to the class, with lower classes receiving higher taxes.
Note: The definition of vehicles includes all mode of transportation, including but not limited to bicycles, cars, trucks, motorcycles, frieght trains, passenger trains, subway trains, ferries, cruises, oil tankers, aeroplanes, gliders, helicopters, airships, hot-air balloons, etc.

Class A | Vehicle emissions in white range | Vehicle taxes at 4%
Class B | Vehicle emissions in yellow range | Vehicle taxes at 8%
Class C | Vehicle emissions in orange range | Vehicle taxes at 12%
Class D | Vehicle emissions in red range | Vehicle taxes at 16%
Class F | Vehicle emissions in black range | Vehicle taxes at 22%
Class S | Vehicles used for occasion lasting no longer than 14 days | Vehicle taxes at 0%
ClassEco | Uses eco-friendly methods (green range) | Vehicle taxes at 0%
ClassExempt | No vehicle emissions (blue range) | Vehicle taxes at 0%

ClassEco 1 | Uses steam
ClassEco 2 | Uses compressed air
ClassEco 3 | Uses electricity
ClassEco 4 | Uses compressed (CNG) or liquified natural gas (LNG)
ClassEco 5 | Uses liquified petroleum gas (LPG)
ClassEco 6 | Uses liquid nitrogen
ClassEco 7 | Uses aranium

In addition, all vehicles except those vehicles under ClassExempt are required to conduct an authorised vehicle emission tests every 30 months (2.5 years) at any authorised check stations or face a fine of ŧ5000 and its vehicle wheel-clamed for 30 days. All vehicles are also required to have a Vehicle Emission Sticker (Vestker) pasted onto their windscreen. All countries have their own choice of deciding on their own vehicle ownership, with a minimum of 5 years to a maximum of 20 years.

LYDOSIA --> You'll only see the biggest city emissions.

CO2
Makadewa: Medium high (with 6 millions of inhabitants, if it's not this or higher, what is it?)
Prodisiac: low
Nigamo: average
Rollet: average
Baie-des-Rochers: medium high (industrial city, example: detroit)
St-Mathieu: low

SMOG
Makadewa: average
Prodisiac: low
Nigamo: medium high (due to its south location, like LA by example)
Rollet: low
Baie-des-Rochers: low
St-Mathieu: low

Like will say one of the last president of the Republic, Joe Caron: "On l'a signé, hostie! On s'en câlice tu des christ de chars à marde? Tant qu'il n'y a rien qui se passe, autant rien faire non plus tabarnacle!" - At the end of a press conferency, when he was frustrate that there was too much journalists who ask him questions about Kyoto Bill, in 2005.

It means: "We sign it, **! We don't ** care about those ** cars of **? Since there nothing happen, why not doing nothing too **!"

** = bad words

P.S. He was very frustrate. -.-

Thanks,

- Blakeway -

What is the required amount of time that a vehicle needs to be tested?
-The government let's the Petrovars do whatever with their vehicles. Although the Petrovan Ministry of Transportation suggests that vehicles be tested and checked up atleast once a year.

Like the state of California in the United States. Registration is every year, and smog checks is done at the time of registration. Physical inspection is not required. But all cars must have a standard of 35 miles p/ gallon minimum. Sports cars are an exception, but they must be limited to a minimum of 25 mpg on highway and 20 mpg on city streets. However in Hypertrophy Law, cars that are purchased are required to pay a one time transportation tax of 2%. The 2% tax helps fund the transportation public services.
