Constitution: Membership
This discussion only pertains to the first part(membership) of the AIN Constitution. This is the current excerpt:
"1.1 - Being part of AIN is very easy and simple. In the Welcome section of the forum is a subforum called Nation Application. There, a hopeful applicant makes a thread regarding their application. The basic requirements are flag and an existing City Journal/ Mayor Diaries and of the sort. Then a minimum of five pictures are to be posted in the thread. After that, it is to the discrepancy of the applicant to put whatever information they feel is interesting or important about their country(population, location, language, leaders, and such.)"

I think it's good the way it is. It allows the voters to see the kind of city/nation is joining the AIN.

hmmm....I just feel that this is too short. We should have more stuff to it... I'll think of ideas on what to put by the time we discuss this again during the summit.

Re: Constitution: Membership
I don't think it needs to be changed. If you add too much, it makes membership requirements too stringent and we run the risk of deterring possible members.

Re: Constitution: Membership
actually, I think that AIN is at a point where we dont really desperately need new members. so now, I think that AIN should start looking for the best of the best in terms of applications by stepping up our criteria standards, but not so high that we only accept custom lotted eyecandy CJs.

Re: Constitution: Membership
Peter is right. I'm thinking of a new application system with points from 1.0 to 6.0. Way better than "yes or no". Example :
Presentation and statistics 3.5
Building skills 5.7
Custom lots 4.6
Eye candy 4.9

Eye candy 4.9
Re: Constitution: Membership
The point system sounds similar to the former-COFR's application system, where membership granted depends on the point the application receive. The former-COFR's system also use the points to determine the application's membership status (e.g. full member, junior member, etc.)

Re: Constitution: Membership
Oh, didn't know that But that doesn't mean we can't use something similar, right ?
Re: Constitution: Membership
Possible, but how does the grades determine what type of membership a particular application get?

Re: Constitution: Membership
Easy:
A = Automatic full membership (85-100%)
B = Automatic full membership (75-84%)
C = Automatic junior membership (65-74%)
D = Automatic junior membership (50-64%)
F = Membership denied (0-49%)

F = Membership denied (0-49%)

Re: Constitution: Membership
Oh. Percents are good.
Presentation and statistics 90%
Building skills 76%
Custom lots 89%
Eye candy 43%
Overall : 74,5% - Accepted as Junior Member.

Re: Constitution: Membership
May I please be frank? Why don't we avoid the point system.
This is what can make this union very unique. The point system is the same as the former COFR and the current SCJU. Let's just say yes or no and come up with a a comment that will best describe the CJ. I believe a point system may lead to a mistake the former COFR had. Let's try to avoid the mistake.

Re: Constitution: Membership
Well, I guess you're more experienced than me at this chapter. We can keep our yes/no system.
Re: Constitution: Membership
I believe this union needs to be ourselves, rather than being like other unions. The Adrian Union had that problem and fell. So did the COFR. Let's just keep it simple. Trust me, it works.
Rather than coming up with a point system. Let's just state: Yes/No with a reason of why we support our decision.

Re: Constitution: Membership
Amen. Why dont we just do like what I did during the full member applications a while back? Like have a template for a criteria list like below:
Peter wrote:Thanks for your application. Here's my review/vote:
Activeness
I think that you have been active just about every day. So we have no problem here. YES
CJ Improvement
You won the super sonic CJ award and you deserve it. With each update your CJ improves. A friendly advice would be to have so much more quality than the speed of updating, but either way is fine. I think that Roanoke Island has definitely improved from your application. YES
Contribution and Asset
Well, you have been participating in most union activities and forum threads. You seem to be nice and I dont see you causing trouble anytime soon. We need people who are active and can contribute to our union even more and I think you brought it. YES
Overall: YES!

Re: Constitution: Membership
It's not bad. I'm thinking of creativity is the key factor. I could use some more help with others.
Re: Constitution: Membership
also, i dont think weshould just let someone become a full member of the bat. what if they then dont do anything then, ya know?

haha what do you mean? even if someone's application is really really good, they still have to become a junior member. you can only be a full member after being a junior member for more than a month. :scratch:
