Day 5 Empty Day 5

Post by Liberater444 16th January 2010, 07:05

Public transportation is one of the most important pieces of the puzzle that is modern transportation in today's cities. Without public transportation, many people would have to rely on friends or their own legs to get to work and other locations.

Today is dedicated to the public transportation in the air. There are a couple questions today:

What are the total number of AIR pub. trans. types, and what are they?
What are your signature/most used AIR pub. trans types?
What, if any, projects are you working on to expand or update your AIR pub. trans.?

Bonus: Tell us about recreational airborne transportation.

What are the total number of AIR pub. trans. types, and what are they?

Arcacia has one airline and, due to the country's size, does not have any domestic flights. Helicopters are commonly used by businessmen to cross the country quickly, but are not generally used by the public. The Coast Guard is also employed to fly the President and other high-ranking diplomats across the country.

What are your signature/most used AIR pub. trans types?

Arcacian Airlines is Arcacia's only airline and it's flagship. Generally speaking it only flies locally, with a small fleet flying to destinations around the Pacific. Arcacian has code-share agreements with other major airlines allowing Arcacians to travel seamlessly to destinations around the globe.

What, if any, projects are you working on to expand or update your AIR pub. trans.?

There are no plans to expand the network.

Bonus: Tell us about recreational airborne transportation.

Seaplanes, hang-gliders and hot-air balloons are common sights in Arcacian skies along with ultra-light and micro-light aircraft. Small, privately owned planes are also used by those who can afford them to fly around Arcacia and sometimes further.

What are the total number of air public transportation types, and what are they?
Borneo: 3 - Airplane, Helicopter (phasing out), Airtaxi (Pelican)
Fornax: 7 - Airplane, Helicopter (phasing out), Helitaxi (phasing out), Airtaxi (Pelican, Phantom, Spirit), Airship (phasing out)
Lanna: 3 - Airplance, Helicopter (phasing out), Airtaxi (Spirit)
Rafforsia: 5 - Airplane, Helicopter (phasing out), Airtaxi (Pelican, Phantom, Spirit)

What are your signature/most used air public transportation types?
All: Most used - Airplane
Borneo: Signature - Pelican Airtaxi
Fornax: Signature - Phantom Airtaxi
Lanna: Signature - Airplane
Rafforsia: Signature - Pelican Airtaxi

What, if any, projects are you working on to expand or update your air public transportation?
All: Rafforsia's Raffore Airlines (RIA) will be expanding its domestic travel throughout Universal Fornax, including airplane destinations and all airtaxi services. RIA have already bought over several Fornaxian airlines and are planning to buy over Lannian's and Bornian's airlines. Ultimately, RIA will have a control over all airspace within Universal Fornax but with reasonable air ticket sales to avoid overpricing the passenger's money. RIA will face stiff competition from the land's high-speed rail services, so healthy competition will remains. However, several air services will be phased out, including helitaxis and helicopters.

Bonus: Tell us about recreational airborne transportation.
Similar to Earth's air recreational activities, Universal Fornax have a wide range of the such, including hot-air balloon and observation balloons.

Just for the heck of it, I'll comment on this one.

What are the total number of AIR pub. trans. types, and what are they?International Jet Service: TirnAir (flights to/from Tirnreich)
Helicopter and Medium Fixed Wing Aircraft used intra-country

What are your signature/most used AIR pub. trans types?
Helicopter. TirnHeliServices offer transportation between heliports in MH-53 Pave Low size Helicopters for large passenger loads. For light/private loads, THS uses modified UH-1 Iroquis helicopters.

What, if any, projects are you working on to expand or update your AIR pub. trans.?
The Ministry of Transportation will be making an international airport in undeveloped land to better serve the international community. As of now, the only public airport is the Imperial Hekli Airfield, which serves public and private pilots, international airlines, (that have medium-sized aircraft) and some of the Imperial Air Corps. The other airfield is the Von Nacht Air Base, which is being used by the IAC and the Aleksanian 2nd Fighter Squadron.

Bonus: Tell us about recreational airborne transportation.
Rec airborne transportation includes skydiving over farmland in Kloettron Hills and Hekli, private aircraft that flies out of Imperial Hekli Airfield, and gliders.
