Nyhaven
I'm going to post my updates and specials for Nyhaven here, starting today. The first picture is last Thursday's mosaic:
These are some of Nyhaven's newest suburbs. I've been trying to incorporate more green space in the new 'burbs, since it was kind of sparse outside of the city's park belt that rings the inner city.
While we're on the subject of parks, here's part of the aforementioned park belt - namely, Ridgeland Park, located due east of downtown. The formal gardens and busy pavilions make this park very popular with the locals.

Re: Nyhaven
Wow I really love your parks and it's nice to see other creating a diagonal road structure.

Sweetness! What is your username at ST? BTW, where did you get those seasonal trees!?!?

Let's create a snowman out of those fallen autumn leaves!
Otherwise, top-quality. I love the way how you fuse those diagonal roads with buildings.

Re: Nyhaven
Thanks, folks! I'm glad you're all so fond of my parks. DCMetro, I use the same username at all the SC4 sites I visit, so I'm woodb3kmaster over at ST too.
I've been working on the history of Nyhaven, and I like what I've written so far. Check it out on the city's AIN Wiki article!
I also have a few pictures to show of my latest remodel of the University of Nyhaven. I'm positively in love with the University of Clayhurst set, and I already have places to put the new buildings that will be in EP1. First, a mosaic of the central part of campus:
The southwestern part of the campus is home to the stadium and some more modern buildings:
I've taken some time to build a decent Greek Row near the future residential part of campus. The fraternity and sorority houses are mixed together at the U of N, much like they are at USC:
Finally, a mosaic stretching from Saint Mark's Square across an inner city neighborhood into the campus:

Re: Nyhaven
Thanks, you two!
My special for this week isn't about anything that I've made, but rather, a change that was made possible by someone else. Over at SC4D, choco took his WIP Rio Antirio Bridge for the MHW and adapted it for use with avenues, at my request. As a result, the Broadway Bridge leading into downtown Nyhaven now has a new look:
I am very thankful to choco for taking the time to make this mod for me. It looks great!

Re: Nyhaven
Thanks, guys! Aleks, I think you're referring to the BSC park paths, which are on the LEX.
You may have thought that I was finished with my remodel of the University of Nyhaven, but that's not quite true. I can't help but notice things that could be better, and one of those things was the medical center. The Maxis disease research center just wasn't cutting it for me, so I decided to adapt another hospital for the university and make it function as a disease research center at the same time. Here's the result:
I made sure to integrate the new lot with its surroundings, adding path connections where they were needed. Overall, I'm much happier with this hospital; its size makes it much more appropriate for a city of three million than the dinky Maxis disease research center, I think.

Re: Nyhaven
Thank you all! I'm glad you like my choice of BAT.
Well, I'ma little late posting this, but here's a look at an older area of metropolitan Nyhaven (in terms of when I built it):
The resort district of the suburban city of Skamokawa has been home to some of Nyhaven's best resort hotels since the 1890s. While some of them have since been rebuilt in more modern styles, and a couple of new hotels have sprung up as well, several of the hotels date all the way back to those early days. The high concentration of hotels here has made Skamokawa the honeymoon capital of Lower Columbia for decades.
As an OOC note, I'm aware that the parking lot for that marina at the top of the mosaic is rather terrifying; I'll see what I can do to fix it. I'm also considering reconfiguring the resort district to accomodate some more old-style hotel BATs that I recently downloaded, and to make them look more like true resorts, with recreational facilities. More on that when it's done.

Re: Nyhaven
Looking nice so far, I didn't even notice the parking until you mentioned it... I'm not a detailed viewer of images, I never notice little things like that!
