Anyone know geometry?
I'm having trouble solving this geometry problem, and everyone I contacted so far can't solve it. Can anyone help?

Re: Anyone know geometry?
Is it true that BE bisects CBA and AD bisects CAB ? Cause that's incomplete. Or AC = CB ? Or both ? Something's missing.
Re: Anyone know geometry?
That's all I got from the worksheet. If something is missing, then I'll retract my question.

Re: Anyone know geometry?
hhhmmmm....I took geometry three years ago....I'll see if I still remember this
And thanks for posting this! Hope to see more homework help here!
Edit: hmmm....shouldnt they give another angle besides angleAFB? Unless there's a 90degree angle... im lost! haha

Re: Anyone know geometry?
Wow english mathematics, either if it's already complicated in my language, won't it be more complicated in english for me? Sorry I can't really help. I study Geometry 2 years aggo... hmm Angle FBA = 42.5 degres, that's the only thing that remind me...

Re: Anyone know geometry?
Btw, what grade are you right now? I'll try to see if this question could be matched to what I've learnt in Singapore as far as Secondary 4.
Edit: I think I got the answer!
Angle BAF = Angle ABF = 42.5 (sum of angles in triangle equals to 180, [180-95]/2 )
Since Line AF bisect Angle CAD, and Line BF bisect Angle CBE...
Angle CAF = Angle DAF = Angle EBF = angle CBF
Angle BAF = 42.5 = Angle BAD + Angle DAF
Angle DBE = 42.5 = Angle ABE + Angle EBF
Since Angle DAF and Angle EBF are the same...
Angle BAD + Angle DAF = Angle ABE + Angle EBF = 42.5
So, Angle BAF - Angle DAF = 42.5 - Angle DAF = Angle BAD
Also, Angle ABF - Angle EBF = 42.5 - Angle EBF = Angle ABE
As Angle DAF = Angle DBF, therefore...
Angle ABD = Angle ABF + Angle DAF = 42.5 + Angle DAF = 42.5 + (42.5 - Angle BAD)
Therefore
Angle BAD + Angle ABD = (42.5 - Angle DAF) + (42.5 + Angle DBF)
Since Angle DAF and Angle DBF are the same, let these angles be a.
As the sum of Triangle ABD equals to 180...
Angle ADB = 180 - Angle BAD - Angle ABD
Angle ADB = 180 - (42.5 - Angle DAF) - (42.5 + Angle DBF)
Angle ADB = 180 - (42.5 - a) - (42.5 + a)
Angle ADB = 180 - 42.5 + a - 42.5 - a
Angle ADB = 180 - 42.5 - 42.5
Angle ADB = 95
Should the shape given is symmetrical,
Angle AEB = Angle ADB
Since the question ask for the sum of Angle AEB and Angle ADB...
Angle AEB + Angle ADB = 95 + 95 = 190
Therefore, the final answer is 190.
Also, should the shape given is not symmetrical, the answer will still be the same as the method to find Angle AEB is the same as the method to find Angle ADB.
Hope this helps.

Re: Anyone know geometry?
Thank you for solving it!
If Wikipedia is correct, I'm in Secondary 4(10th Grade in the US). You got the answer before anyone I knew in my school. Then again, the state decided to take away one school day every week to close a budget deficit.

Re: Anyone know geometry?
Btw, if you guys need help in Maths or Science, I believe that Singapore Textbooks are available for sale in the US.
According to stats and tests, it was proven that Singapore Maths is effective than other Maths, basically because Singapore Textbooks use pictures and colors for illustration.
Singapore Textbooks may not be cheap and may not follow your US education syllabus, but it sure helps you learn certain tough concepts and methods.
Here's a 2007 news article in about California accepting the usage of Singapore Maths: http://www.marketwire.com/press-release/California-Teachers-Get-Approval-From-Board-Education-State-Funds-Use-Standards-Edition-792848.htm

Re: Anyone know geometry?
For the 4 day school weeks, it's in Hawaii. Everyone in the government is arguing about them, so i don't expect them to last much longer.
We have textbooks from the 70's. They're not replacing them anytime soon.

Re: Anyone know geometry?
Oh my. Is it secondhand or it's still use by the school? Whatever the case, that's a pretty old textbook you have. Almost half a century ago.
In Singapore, we weren't taught Vietnam War in Secondary school curriculum, only mentioned briefly. Korean War from 1950 to 1953 as part of the Cold War is considered far more important than Vietnam War according to the Singapore Ministry of Education. This is based on the syllabus year of 2008-2012.
