Proposal: AIN Sattelite Project Empty Proposal: AIN Sattelite Project

Post by Liberater444 3rd February 2010, 06:36

Okay. For those who don't know, I brought up an idea for an inter-union space station at the LoN-AIN MSN meeting a few weeks ago. I drew it out to be more of an ISS-type project; its working name/concept name was dubbed the "Pan Union Space Station." The Station would allow inter-union community and roleplaying, as well as flesh out and stretch our earth-bound technological boundaries.

A few speed bumps along the way have slowed the project; for the most obvious (or maybe not so obvious) reason, the name had to go, secondly, the LoN disbanded, which again didn't help the project. Last night during the LOST season premiere, I drew up the basic concept ideas, to get this puppy on the que for further development and community input.

Here it is:

Possible Names:
Independnency Manned Sattelite
International Alliance Space Station

Modules:
Astronomy: Studies pertain to stars and other celestial bodies
Geological: Studies pertain to Earth and Lunar geology; placement of natural resources and landmarks etc.
Zero G testing: Tests various elements, items, and other substances and their reaction to zero gravity.
Medical: Dedicated to medical tests in space, medical treatment of crew, food and water resources, and disease containment
Arrivals/Imports: Manages imports of foodstuff, module equipment, and the arrival of new cosmonauts and scientists.
Photography: Takes pictures of various celestial objects, including Earth, Earth's Moon, and the Sun.
Navigation: Manages movement and orbit of Sattelite. Ensures safety by maneuvering craft when need be, and readjusting orbital settings.
Communications: Receives and transmits messages and data from the Sattelite to locations within AIN member nations.

Regulations:
Member nations interested in commanding a module may bid for the position as junior or full member status.*

Each member nation can have control of one, and only one, module at a time.

They will assume control of the module for 2 months.*

Every 2 weeks*, member nations will send in a report pertaining to the status of their module. Member controllers may request permission from the Sattelite Board to start any extra programs to benefit the Union or the Sattelite.

*Or up to project board/union managers

I request the privilege of being the prime developer of the project, as well as member of the Project Board. Either way I will make this my personal project and will help the best I can.

So what do you think of v1.0? Please remember that this is just a base concept and that I encourage constructive criticism.

Geoff

The Republic of Novland is in full support of this project and if offering the full use of the Alistrai Rocket program to get this project off the ground.

I would just like to make one correction: Where you say ASTROLOGY you should say ASTRONOMY. Astrology is a pseudo-science with no basis in reality. Astronomy is the scientific study of stars and planets.

As Arcacia has a well funded space program, we would be most interested in taking part in this project. Satellites can be launched from the Arcacian Space Agency launch facility in Cape Cooley, Yorke Bay.

Fornax is supportive of this space project. With a manageable GDP revenue, Fornax will be able to fund for at most 3 to 4 modules, depending on the technology being used and the researchs being done.

However, Fornax does not have any space experience yet.

Although Holidia has limited funds for AIN projects we can offer researchg facilities and expertise - being an ex-COFR ation and having acess to technology from the advanced planetary nations of the ex-union.

Aleksania supports this and if this were to become a reality would be willing to use the Buran II spacecraft (Russo-Aleksanian version of the Space Shuttle) to help build the space station

also, Aleksania has started building its own space station with one module already in space and two more built and waiting to be launched. Aleksania would be willing to turn this station into the AIN one

(Didn't we already discuss something like this a while back?)

I love this idea!

But I think we do have something similar to this. Im not sure, but I know that AIN does have a space station. I cant remember the exact details, its Nate and Max that worked on it, so ask them Smile

Yep, you're correct Peter. And you too Aleks.

Nate and Max did have an ISS-type project, but it was basically only a joint project for their country, not for AIN if I'm not wrong.

And Aleks, we did discuss this on the forum a couple of months ago. Just can't remember when.
