Day 5
In every league, in every city, in every country and across borders, there are teams that compete against each other in a fierce and timeless competition for bragging rights. Whether born of historical conflict on a deeper level, or whether they are otherwise good natured neighbours, sporting rivalries make a game more than just another fixture on the calendar. They produce some of the most electric plays, the most gripping finishes and the most sizzling finals.
What rivalries exist in your countries leagues? Does your country have any rivalries with other countries that are played out on the sporting field?
Please provide details as to how these rivalries came about and why they persist to this day.

Within Arcacia, the largest rivalries are on the ice. Redding City and French Redding is by far the biggest. It is simply a case of English versus French and has been going ever since French Redding entered the AHL. Providence and Broadalbin also make for a fierce local derby, which is simply a case of neighbours going to war. Providence and Redding City also have an intense rivalry, a case of the largest city and the capital vying for supremacy. Then there is the French rivalry between French Redding and Lycanthia. Nothing more than the two French teams trying to show the other who's boss, but it still makes for a spectacular game when they find themselves in the same place at the same time.
International rivalries also exist. The most spectacular is when Arcacia takes on Australia. We always win, of course, because unlike Australia, Arcacia actually takes the game seriously. Lycanthia is also proving to be a formidable opponent. Though Arcacians are happy to cheer for Lycanthia and vice-versa, when the two are matched against each other, there is no love lost. Arcacia also has an intense rivalry with New Zealand, for much the same reason as with Australia. Both are good friends and neighbours, but when it comes to sport, it's war. Arcacia typically makes a meal of New Zealand on the ice, though.

Ollingdale and Woking have a big rivalry against each other, as they are the biggest cities and the biggest teams.
We have a big rivalry with Britain in tennis and cricket, and are big rivals with Holidia in most sports.

There is a famous old rivality between Prodisiac and Makadewa in every sports.
As the République of Lydosia is the neighbor of Illu'a and Lower Columbia, they're both Lydosia's rivals! (If they agree)

Although, Kingdom of Hypertrophy has some rivalries within its own, it does have rivalry with its neighboring countries like Acadylea. Both nations are great friends politically and such, but when it comes to sports. We are strong rivals.
