Re: Central Zone | Hall 121, 122 | Fornax
Economy
With a reasonable population, foreign companies prefers Fornax due to its attractive packages and plans. It heavily relies on tourism, automobile manufacturing and agriculture to substain the economy, but foreign investments and international trading have too begun to take up a bigger share in the economy. Most of the people in the workforce are able to obtain a stable job, with unemployment rate declining rapidly. Fornax have also narrowly escape the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis and the 2008-2009 Sub-Prime Mortgage Crisis, allowing its economy to maintain its steady pace. Fornax is also a major automobile manufacturing hub in the region, supplying its car to Asia, Australia and the Americas.
Fornax have many free trade agreements with other countries, most importantly the ASEAN countries, Japan, China and India. A free trade agreement with the United States of America is under planning. Fornax have its own currency, the Fornax Dollar.
Military
Since its independence from both British and Chinese rule in 1954 and 1956 respectively, Fornax have face a troubled history. Bogged with civil riots and international wars, Fornax is able to recover fast from such political-led civil problems. Therefore, in order to defend Fornax from its neighbouring aggressors, it will have to arm itself well. The whole Fornaxian Military are now a fully Third Generation Army, ready for any kind of attacks on its soil or from external countries.
Fornax focus more on its naval and air forces than its army, due to the fact its hostile neighbouring countries does not share a land border but a wide water body, rendering the land military vehicles useless.
Demographics
Fornax is a devoted Christian country, practising the demonination of Carolinism. Other demonination of Christianity especially Catholicism and Methodism are also practice in Fornax, although not to a wide extend. Other religion are rarely seen within Fornax, although some of them might exist in a very small group. Non-Christian religions that are known to exist in Fornax are Buddhism, Islam and Judaism.
Fornax too enjoys racial harmony, with about 90% of the people are Chinese or Thai. Amongst the Western Racial Class, Eurasians cover about 70% of the Westerners living in Fornax, with mostly Americans and British make up the other 30%. After independence, social congregation no longer exist after the Chinese and Thai join forces into wiping out the Westerner, causing most of the Whites to flee to Prenca. Yet, those Westerners that remain on Fornax are greatly welcomed by the new Powers of Fornax.
Since independence, English is a mandatory language every citizen must learn. Depending on the race, a second mandatory Mother Tougue language of either Mandarin or Thai is a must. Any subsequent language an individual wish to learn is allowed. Other subjects such as humanities, mathematics and sciences are also learnt in schools. All children must at least completes primary education or the parent will face punishment by the law. Most primary and secondary schools in Fornax are fully or partially funded by the government, with a small pocket of schools are independently funded. At a tertiary level, colleges and technical schools are funded by the government, while polytechnics are partially funded by the goverment. A majority of the universities are funded by the government. Most Fornaxian Universities are well known worldwide, especially Kace National University of Buiness, Cicone University of Design and Technology and University of Sypogen.
Culture
Following the proper Christian moral values, bad morals, bad habits and bad items are forbidden in Fornax. In Fornax, smoking, pornography, gay marriage and tattooing are prohibited. In a political level, imprisonment is a rare occurance, while the death penalty have since been abolished since independence as, under the Values of Carolinism Christian, killing a human is the same as destroying God's creation.
The Fornaxian Cuisine mostly consists of Chinese cuisine and Thai cuisine, with a mix of Western cuisine. Ever since the Singaporean cuisine have been introduced into Fornax in the 80s, food fusion is a common practice throughout Fornax. During certain period of the year, durians, dubbed as the King of Fruits, is a national food of Fornax.
Environment
Fornax is a generally flat country with barely any hilly areas and rivers that winds through the countryside, into the cities and out to the sea. Yet, in the centre of Fornax lies a rocky and hilly area, the Sinai Mountaineous Range which borders with Xena. The Sinai Range is a nature conservation area, preventing urbanization from happening in that dense rainforest. In fact, the Sinai Range is the only dense forested area of Fornax and Xena combines. Giving the conservation status prevents the last remaining dense forest from disappearing fro the ever-crowded island.
Fornax no longer practice mining since its ban in the 1960s, despite that the land contains precious materials to Fornax such as aluminium, steel, iron, silver, gold and copper. Ever since the mining ban, mines and quarries were left unattended for the next 8 years until the government decided to beautify the mines and quarries. With the project finished in 1999, mines and quarries were filled up and plants are planted in the quarries.
Landfills no longer exists on land as an approved Landfill Act in 1978 only permits offshore landfills. There are currently 4 offshore landfills, all with a remaining unused capacity of 61% to 74%. In order to expand the lifespan of the offshore landfills, recycling plays a major aspect within Fornax. With the Plastic Bag Act approved in 2002, plastic bags are no longer manufactured and shops nationwide are not allowed to issue plastic bags. Reusable bags are then introduced with a small fee to purchase it, and people began to use reusable bags more often.
The City Roadside Plantation Act in 1982 requires all roads in cities and towns to be planted with road-friendly plantations, mostly trees. As the law was implemented at the period when personal vehicles become affordable then, air pollution in major cities especially Kace Point and Cicone were quickly avoided. Also, temperatures in cities dropped significantly, giving a more cooling environment.
Recently, the major issue about the environment is the conversion to cleaner power source. At the moment, about 77% of the power comes from coal power plant. Clean power plants only takes up the remaining 23%, with most of the power generated from hydroelectric dams, solar power plant and wind power plant. Under the proposed Clean Power Plant Act, geothermal power plant and nuclear power plant will get the go ahead to be built. The proposed Clean Power Plant Act faced fierce opposition from political opponents and naturalist.
Transport
Fornax is well-connected at an international level. It currently have three international airports that flys to over 90 countries worldwide. The coastal city of Kace Coast is a major trading hub, handling over two hundred million tonnes cargoes from Europe and Middle East to East Asia and the Americas.
At a domestic level, Fornax transportation system is of a world-class standards. The Highway System weaves through the country in such a way that congestion rarely happens. A high-speed railway system, called InterSpeed, is the only passenger train service in Fornax. In cities, automated and driverless subway systems replace the old driver-dependent subway trains. Every year, a new subway line opens in Fornax. The Public Bus System has been planned out strategically to prevent commuters from always transferring bus services too much everyday. Car parks are now located underground to free up precious land space on ground level for future developments.
Current Situation
Fornax is in a hostile relation with its neighobouring country Prenca over an espionage incident and the claim of Prenca planning to bomb Fornaxian's city, Sypogen. in February 2010, both sides pull out from the ceasefire agreement, making a war likely to happen.

Glad you managed to remove that. Where I live, I have to transfer from a feeder route to the main route. If the destination isn't along the main route, I have to get on a third bus.Aranho wrote:prevent commuters from always transferring bus services too much everyday
