The
Kadrian Socialist Republic is the remnants of the pre-World War II
Aleksanian communist government. After WWII, the people of Aleksania
everywhere voted to have a free democratic government, everywhere
except the Kadrian District of Saint George and Kadrian Islands,
where most of the high communist party officials lived. To try to
please both parties, the United Nations divided Aleksania, giving the
communist the Islands of Saint George and King John, and the
democratic government the main Islands, dividing the country like in
Korea. And like Korea, war soon followed. In 1954, only shortly after
the end of the Korean War, the Kadrian Socialist Republic (KSR)
invaded the city of Keiv, Aleksania; the old communist capital city.
Soon, they had overrun all but the small island city of Petrograd,
forming what was called the Petrograd Perimeter (after the more
famous Pusan Perimeter). By then, this had caught the attention of
the United Nations, who sent forces from Australia, New Zealand,
South Korea, and the United States to aid Aleksania (even though
Aleksaniais
|was |not a member of the United Nations). Holding the perimeter,
Aleksanian and US forces landed at North Keiv, Then, after regaining
the main islands, UN and Aleksanian forces landed at King John’s
Island, and soon after crossed the King John Straights onto Saint
George Island. Finally, on October 17, 1960, the KSR agreed to the
terms of surrender, being confined to Kadrian Island.
