Proposal | Deputy Minister
With the recent inactivity of certain Ministers of their own department, I have decided to propose a deputy minister for all departments.
Using the Department of Economy and Trades as an example, Tyler is the Minister of the Department of Economy and Trades. However, he did not update the National budget thread for almost two weeks, leaving the number of change in budget request unanswered.
With a deputy minister, they could step in to do the work until the main minister returns.
Basically, the system works like this:
During the elections, the person with the next highest number of votes become the Deputy Minister.
Should there only be one contestant campaigning for a particular Department, all eligible Full AIN members will qualify for the Deputy Minister Election.
Any contestants not wishing to take part in the election for Deputy Minister may choose to request to be pull out from the Deputy Minister Election.
The Deputy Minister will only take over the Minister's role should the Minister does not respond to the last request within one week.
The Deputy Minister must pass over all roles back to the Minister should he/she returns.
The Deputy Minister will only be promoted to Minister role should the original Minister either resigned from its post or quit from AIN. No new election will take place for the Deputy Election until the next Union Elections.

I will vote for this, after all. We have real life issues. And we need to update what's going on in the union.
Re: Proposal | Deputy Minister
Very nice idea aran! We definitely need a deputy minister
Edit: So should we put this up for voting?

With everyone (I presume) liking this proposal, I guess we could put this up for voting.
If put for voting, this proposal shall be a Level 3 Order proposal, with the options Yes, No, Abstain and Veto.

Unfortunately, only Full members are allowed to take ministorial places. That is according to the AIN Constituition

Yes I guess this will be an order - how about the elected minister just appointing a suitable full member for the job - if their are no additional candidates - and could you include in the law that double-jobbing is not permitted?

Re: Proposal | Deputy Minister
Having the Main Minister selecting his/her Deputy Minister of their choice looks unfair. With the number of full member AIN have, I am sure that there will be sufficient candidates for the Deputy Minister post.Neil wrote:Yes I guess this will be an order - how about the elected minister just appointing a suitable full member for the job - if their are no additional candidates - and could you include in the law that double-jobbing is not permitted?
Deputy Ministers are not allowed to serve more than two terms in the row, is it?

No, that a member cant hold two ministerial positions (i.e Minister of Public Safety and Minister of Trade)

Re: Proposal | Deputy Minister
Oh. If it concerns the Main Minister, then it is not best for this proposal. But if it's for the Deputy Minister, then I could add it in.
