Hekli
Hekli has quite some history in the Tirnreich.
Hekli is known as Tirnreich's 2nd City; the city was the second development undertaken by the government of Germany in the early 1990's. After Germany's economic boom, the budget grew exponentially. The city has since developed into one of the largest cities by area and one of the most important cities.
Hekli is characterized by the lake in the center of the city, which is called Hekli Meer. Other than the lake, Hekli is completely flat, much like most other cities in the Imperial Capital District. Other geological features include moderate tree coverage and two community beaches.
Zones
The city is mainly divided into commercial and residential zones, with a few industrial lots sneaking in.
Hekli started off as a small residential community with a coordinating commercial zone to its east. The housing branched off from Baden-Stadt, and spread to the lake. Residences eventually moved around the West side of the lake, and spread out on the Southwest side of the lake area. Today, residences are mostly middle class, single family homes or apartments in these areas. Residential establishments start growing and getting taller as you move towards and into the southern CBD of Hekli.
The commercial districts of Hekli are not near rivals of those of Baden-Stadt or Nachtsburg, but they are still important in the economy of the country. The first CBD was located to the East of the residential community of the early city. It featured mainly small businesses, mom-and-pop stores, and common services. As time went on, it developed eastward, and integrated corporation and office buildings into the mix, until the development wrapped around the East side of the lake. The commercial developments took over land that was used for farming, and today form the Southern CBD of Hekli, which spans the width of the Lake.
The industrial side of Hekli is almost non-existent. The only real industrial development in Hekli was the farming initiatives started by Mayor Fjor Piklijiowski. Farms dominated the landscape directly West, East, and South of the lake. It was estimated that the farms brought in 18% of the city's income at the time. Today, few farms remain, and some are being queued for relocation or rezoning. Residential developers are looking for more room to expand, and farms are becoming more scarce, and therefore becoming less relevant in the city's economy.
Politics
The politics of Hekli are notorious for being very controversial and oftentimes dangerous. As the Tirnreich was once part of East Germany, and such a subsidiary of the USSR, it was victim of the communist domination. Very few people enjoyed being under communist rule, but a group who did oppose only did so because it was Soviet Communism, and not a local government. These people moved to the area currently known as Hekli.
During the fall of the Soviet Union in the 90's, communists flocked to the Tirnreich, and specifically Hekli, to hopefully get a jumpstart on politics and attempt to start a new communist republic. When Emperor von Nacht was crowned Emperor of the Tirnreich, many communists campaigned for a communist republican government, rather than a monarchy. Today, and estimated 62% of the population is communist. The communist party of the Tirnreich had its headquarters in Hekli, until, in 2010, it was taken over by the government and used as a Ministry of Defense building. (This occured after the communist terrorist bombings in Nord Park)
Landmarks
Hekli has a couple landmarks that are distinctive to the city.
1. DDR Memorial- This parade stand was made in the late 80's to commemorate the founding of the USSR. It was built on an old train track that was demolished due to inefficiency. This is popular among enthusiasts and communist party members alike.
2. Hekli Stadium- The football stadium in Heki seats just over 90,000 spectators, and is located south of the lake, in the middle of the South CBD, and just a minute away from the Hekli-Sudfeld border. The stadium is used for football games, concerts, and even political rallies, or disaster relief.
3. Von Nacht Air Base- VNAB is the first air force base built in the Tirnreich. It is located just East of the regional airfield. It currently houses a base-only mall, FORCOM (Foreign Operations Command) building with adjacent canals, and the IAF barracks. VNAB is currently housing an air wing of the Aleksanian Air Force.
4. Ministry of Defense-Hekli and Armory Buildings- The armory buildings have been active since 2008, and have recently gotten the clearance to station armed on-call troops. The vault and outpost lie directly south of the old KLG (Imperial People's Party) building, now known as the Ministry of Defense-Hekli Building.
5. Southeastern Plaza- SE Plaza is a nice area to live near. On the plaza, there are two park areas, a statue of the mayor, Gregor Schaed, a police station, an apartment tower, and shopping just north of the plaza. The center of the plaza is denoted as the skywalk, which traverses Southeastern Ave.

Re: Hekli
Thanks guys! This was literally my second city that I made in the region, and I just never got around to posting it. I've made a pretty awesome new addition to the city, in the form of a small tile to its SW.
@Sky Guy- yeah, that strip is a one-way landing/take off.
