Capital City downtown revamp

Alrighty guys, I need your help. In addition to the ten other cities, etc I am working on, I feel like I need to remodel my downtown.

However, I want your opinion first.

Should I have it be a less developed area and have more poor?
Should I have more construction showing the oil boom?
Should I have more colonial buildings, or more new?
Should I model it after a different city?
Should I leave it?

Please help- I really want all of your ideas.

Seriously, you can give any suggestions like: bigger roads, more trees, blow up the city.... haha

What I think is that you have downtown being really influenced by the oil boom, kind of Dubai style developments. But then directly besides the downtown, have loads of slums. The contrast will be amazing.

Firstly, I need to know how devloped that country with GDP. And I upload some slums lots with dependencies that you may have.

Slums next to Dubai highrises. Then demolish slums for a big park.

Personally, I really like this But I suggest to do as Emgmod said and to developp more in the green spaces like on the last pic!

Off topic: On the second pic, there's a building with a soccer field on the roof, what is it!?

I have started using more slums right next to highrises in my more recent cities- so I will consider it.

I will put a few more green spaces in, but I do want to keep the crowded southeast Asian feel.

Thanks 976 for the slums, they will help a bunch. Also, I'm not sure how to calculate an accurate GDP, and do you want PPP or per capita, or another kind?

Oh and that building is an elevated rail station its on one of the japanese websites, the name escapes me right now though...
