Illu'a Translink Rail
Illu'a Translink Rail is a government subsidized railroad company operating almost all intercity railroads in Illu'a. Only one line uses high speed trainsets, and many lines aren't designed to operate beyond 130 km/hr.

Re: Illu'a Translink Rail
That's what I forgot to add. Most lines are electrified. Lines that aren't electrified are either quickly converted freight railroads or low traffic routes.

Re: Illu'a Translink Rail
Sky Guy: Some of the stations are scattered in my CJ section. I'll post them sometime.
Liberater: You don't have passenger rail? You need some.
During the formation of Translink Rail in September 1, 1972, the company inherited train fleets from Colbitz Central Railroad, The Liberty Railroad, and the Grand Eastern. This resulted in early routes using a mix of fleets.
A westbound Carver Valley Limited from Carver Valley to Colbitz. Before the formation of Translink Rail, the Colbitz Central Railroad operated the Carver Valley Limited from Powell to Colbitz via Carver Valley. The locomotive and the first two cars were operated by The Liberty Railroad, the first car having a small galley. The last car is a Grand Eastern Coach.
The parallel trail was an attempt to show an abandoned track.

Re: Illu'a Translink Rail
Coming soon in a joint operation with Duwamish and Lower Columbia, a revival of the Pacific Express, one of the lines of the now defunct Columbian and Illu'an Railroad (C&I).
In 1901, the C&I started as a train and passenger ferry service from Strathmore to Dafter, Victoria, Kalama, Seattle and Nyhaven. The rails were extended to cities in Illu'a, Portland, and Olympia, with a rail ferry building built at Kalama and Strathmore. As part of the 1926 Pacific Exposition in Vancouver, the C&I extended rails to Vancouver and made Colbitz-Vancouver its main line, the Pacific Express. Due to increasing automobile ownership, the C&I became bankrupt in 1949. Some of the remaining assets in Illu'a were bought out by the Grand Eastern Railroad, and ferry service continued to this day as the C&I Ferry.
A deal between Translink Rail, C&I Ferry, the Duwamish Government, and the Lower Columbian government had to be arranged in order to revive the Pacific Express. Translink Rail provides the trainsets. C&I Ferry provides the train ferries and ferry staff for crossing the Adraman Channel. Staff on the trains belong to the country the train is currently at (Illu'an staff when the train is in Illu'a, etc.). There is a Lower Columbian maintenance facility in Vancouver that is used.
The planned route, with major stops listed. There would be one train daily in each direction. More trains might be added if demand is there.
Special C&I Ships designed to carry the trains.

Yeah! Pacific Express Columbian!
@emgmod: actually, I was kidding We have passenger rail in Tirnreich, but not so much so in the Capital district, which is where all my cities I've developed currently are.

Re: Illu'a Translink Rail
Welcome to a new segment which I call... Know Your Line!
Know Your Line: The Pacific Express
The Pacific Express originally was a named passenger train run by the Columbia and Illu'a Railroad, originally between Colbitz to Vancouver via Seattle and Dawson. While the C&I Cascades route between Vancouver and Eugene was more popular, the Pacific Express was the most famous train in the fleet. The train was inaugurated on April 31, 1926 as the first trainset left Colbitz Central Station for Vancouver in time for the Pacific Exposition. The main thing that made the Pacific Express stand out is a 7 hour ferry trip as the train went between Kalama and Strathmore.
In 1941, The Pacific Express trainset was upgraded to an all diesel train with streamlined locomotives and cars. Along with the new trainset, the Pacific Express was painted in dark blue and silver.
By the 1950's, the Pacific Express faced declining patronage in favor of cars and airplanes. Seeing that the route of the Pacific Express across the Adraman Channel was the least profitable segment of the route, the C&I Railroad abandoned operations to Illu'a in 1959. In 1961, the route was further truncated to Seattle, with a vastly smaller trainset. By 1967, the train was running 1 locomotive, 1 baggage car, 1 diner/lounge, and three coach cars. The old Pacific Express was shut down on July 1, 1970 when the C&I Railroad went bankrupt.
In 2008, a resurgence in rail transit brought the idea of reviving the Pacific Express. Talks with Illu'an, Duwamishan, and Lower Columbian rail authorities lasted for months. By the end of 2008, it was a agreed that a newer Pacific Express will run between the three countries from Colbitz-Seattle. There would be one train that goes across the whole route in each direction daily. In addition, there are trains added on the Colbitz-Strathmore and the Dawson-Seattle corridor. Trainsets from Baer Transportation and special ferries were bought, and service started on July 30, 2010. Since then, the train has been profitable and has attracted people from all around the world.
