Diamonds found in cave
YORKE - A team of geologists from the Arcacian Science Institute have made a remarkable discovery in a cave just outside Middle Range. The scientists were surveying the cave, which is believed to be a small volcanic vent. Deep in the cave, where pressures and temperatures were once extreme, one of the geologists, Dr Sarah King, picked up something that sparkled when she shone her torch on it. Upon closer inspection, it was revealed to be a large diamond.
The team made contact with the University of Yorke Bay who sent there own team to the sight and were joined at the entrance to the cave by Minister for Natural Resources, David Bruce. The government has commissioned an extensive survey of the cave. It only took a few more minutes before several other gems were found, including rubies, emeralds and sapphires. The most predominant mineral in the cave is quartz.
As the cave is in a national park, it is unlikely that a large scale mining operation would ever be approved, however the government is exploring a gentler approach to extracting as many of the gems as possible. The national park, and hence the cave, is public land and therefore anything inside the cave is considered communal property. The government has said that they will not allow a private company to take over. An initial estimate claims there could be as much as $50 billion worth of precious and semi-precious stones hidden in the cave walls. The president has said: "This pays for everything we've done since we came to office. It's incredible!"
The cave has been sealed off and is now guarded by the Coast Guard. The "King Diamond" is now on public display in the Great Hall in Providence. The government is consulting with geologists and environmentalists about the best way to extract what they can from the cave without disturbing the surrounding natural landscape.

Yeah, great news. Fairview Business Limited interested in extracting and creating a mining system that the national park will not be affected!

Sorry to kill off hopes and dreams Miguel, but...

I would expect it'll be a very tiny mining team employed by the Government, and monitored very closely by Arcacia.

Yes - VERY tiny. Old fashioned hand tools only, I'm afraid. The gems are public property. They will be available for sale with all proceeds going straight into the Arcacian treasury.

Oh good...nice, easy money. Just got to pay for labor, tools, mining, press and etcetera.

By chance, does this coincide with the Skycruiser so it can pay off the costs?

There are some coincidences which are not very fortunate. Such as stepping out onto the road at the precise moment a truck is speeding past. There are other coincidences which are more fortunate, such as finding a cave full of diamonds when you've spent more money that you care to count.
