In Aleksania, one of the most important days of the year is September 2, or Victory Day. Victory Day is the day that Aleksania celebrates the victory over the Japanese in World War II. It is also the day that Aleksanians remember all those who died and suffered to bring on this. In Aleksania, on Victory Day all flags must be at half-mast, it is considered the extremely disrespectful (and just wrong) not to do so. At noon on that day in Aleksania city, their is a large military parade around Aleksania Point, and across the bay bridge and through downtown Aleksania City to America Street. This parade traditionally involves Aleksanian forces, and a unit from the United States, England, Australia, and Taiwan (as Aleksania has no formal relations with P.R. China). But in the last few years, Aleksania has had forces from other countries involved, including Canada, Russia, India, the Philippines, New Zealand, and Indonesia. The Victory Day Parade is very similar to the Victory Day Parade in Russia. This is followed at night by a huge 2 hour long fireworks show and a twenty-one gun salute by the RAS Aleksania.
