Châteauneuf Empty Châteauneuf

Post by Daniel 24th August 2010, 00:42

Lycanthia's largest city, Châteauneuf is the capital of Province Nordique (Northern Province). With a population of 22,000 it is growing rapidly and is attracting a wide variety of businesses and has quickly become the hub of Lycanthian nightlife.

Yeah, the suburbs spread out to the East and West. South there are mountains and North is the ocean.

Interesting layout of your farms with your downtown... sound weird but looks nice, good job!

Sound like Sydney except for the cardinal direction. Wink

Actually, Sydney sprawls out for 50km to the North, West and South.

The sprawl is too Maxis, but I really like the central area, it's very nice.

I really can't be bothered downloading a million and one addons just so every house looks different. For some things, Maxis defaults are just fine. There are a few custom buildings in the mix, but the city is still very new and it takes time for buildings to "level up" to a point where the custom content starts building itself.

Okay, so I gave it some thought and I'm downloading a few mods. I'm also downloading the mod that stops those hideous low density mansions from growing. I hate those.

That's good to hear Dan, it would really add to the wealthy-look of the area. Smile

It's already starting to make a difference, especially in new cities like Versoix. However, it does take time. Most of these mods are for medium-high wealth, so when the city starts out, it's usually mostly low-wealth and needs some time to level up.

BTW: The no-mansions mod doesn't work. Don't waste your time with it.

Never heard of it! I'll look it up. Won't I need to replace ALL the maxis stuff with custom content, though, including all farming, industrial, residential and commercial?

EDIT: Never mind, I just found it and it's flexible. SWEET!

ALSO: A search for matt32b on LEX and STEX brings up no results. Can someone give me a link?

And it actually works - I've seen no maxis in months.

I just went on a major shopping spree. I must have downloaded 20 mods. Now I get the joy of unzipping them all.

Some of the maxis stuff is okay, though. There are some buildings that I would actually download if they weren't included, especially the Euro style stuff. Most of it, however, is terrible.

And installing them. Wink
I love major shopping sprees on Simtropolis and SC4D. I haven't had many in a while though.

I do too. I just don't like unwrapping it all afterwards. It's SO tedious.
