Rhodes votes to join Cattala

The ministers and Senate of Rhodes today voted on the future of the country, after the death of Prince Julius Vaas one week ago. Public support had been with the Dual Monarchy concept all week, and international analysts also pointed out that the series of tragic events this year within the AIN, that started with the Ollingdale civil war, mean that world leaders also hoped for the easiest transition for Rhodes, to prevent further strife inside the Alliance community.

Ministers voted alongside Senators for the first time in the vote between Monarchy and Republic, which resulted in an 81% vote for Monarchy. Under normal circumstances, Prince Luke, the brother of Julius, would have taken the throne due to his daughter still being a baby. However Luke is married to Her Royal and Holy Majesty Queen Alexandra V, and abdicated in 1990 so that his wedding could go ahead.
Because of a lack of blood heir, the title of Prince of Rhodes was no longer valid, and under the Rhodes Constitution, Parliament would need to decide the future of the country.
The Head of the Senate decided to bring forward a motion to decide whether to make Queen Alexandra the head of state for Rhodes, or become a Republic.

Queen Alexandra is travelling to Rhodes for an official tour of her new island this week, and will meet up with her husband Prince Luke in Rhodes Town.
The Master of the Chamber (Cattala) will open voting on accepting Rhodes as part of the Kingdom tomorrow, when it will officially become a Province within the Royal and Holy Kingdom.

Duwamish's government fully supports Queen Alexandria's new reign over Rhodes and its merger with the Royal and Holy Kingdom of Cattala.

Thanks guys - I thought it was an original way to add roleplay and remove a nation without war or violence.

And I promise - Rhodes will get CJ updates! I'm not sure where the Rhodes FC and things will go from now though.
