Information
The AIN Headquarters is the building in which we meet. The city that hosts it becomes the most important city in the AIN. If you would like the honour of having the AIN based in your country, you will need to present a bid.
What you need:
- A city with a population of at least 20,000
- A decent international airport
- A suitable building to act as the AIN HQ
- A stable government (preferably a democracy) and no internal conflict
- Suitable accommodation for visiting dignitaries
The city you choose to bid with doesn't necessarily have to be your national capital, though the choice is yours. When posting your bid, you will need to show the completed building and it's location in relation to the rest of the city. You might also like to post other pictures of your country and a statement of why you think that your city is the best choice for the AIN.
Bidding is now open. Bidding closes Monday 1st November. The winner will be decided by a general vote by all members. A poll will be opened on the the same day and run for 3 days.

Yes. The plane just flies low with full flaps and drops people.

Some nations cannot hold airports and use other nations to have one, they move passengers by ship to the nation/island

So... if we are not a democracy, can we still bid?

I think they mean that your nation should have some democratic views and must be stable

Yeh, just needs to be stable. Although democracies are always good.

Re: Information
What kind of international airport qualifies as "decent?" The one I'm making for the bid city has 20 small and medium gates, with a small cargo area.

It doesn't need to be JFK, just as long as people can get there.

Re: Information
Before this goes through, do you think we could put this to vote?
Centralizing one city in the AIN for HQ puts that country on a pedestal in a way, and AIN's countries have been always been about equality.
We've always gone without a central "capital" for the Union, opting more for the idea of national embassies, and (at one time) an AIN building in EVERY country.
I would feel more comfortable if we put this to vote, and maybe gave everyone a little more notice.

Re: Information
Well i like the idea, many unions have HQ in nation. I think it will create new role-play and will be fun and it get realistic because we will have a center where AOIN works. Well it will not make any country on the pedestal, that does not mean that any city is better then others. It is like Geneve, Geneve is not better then Moscow nor Paris it is just a city. So i think that its a good idea for adding role-play and realism to the union.

Re: Information
Didn't undestand you? One HQ per nation or one HQ for all AIN?

Re: Information
One for nation, well there are different possibilities. 1)HQ for all nations 2)HQ in one nation 3)HQ in two nations

Re: Information
Yes i like it too. Well the idea is that Switzerland is not stronger then any other member of UN, but well it will be fun to make situations. Because the problem whit HQ in all of AOIN nations is well.... not really fun. They are not existing in the role-play. But this will demand from members to read other members post and be active in role-play in the HQ. Many strong unions have HQ in one or two nations. And that does not mean that there are better then any other. It is just role-play and adding new drama, fun and interest.

Re: Information
I think this was all created in light of Escambia (which had the old Supreme Court and AIN HQ) leaving.

Re: Information
Well still its a interesting idea. So well i think the best is to have two main HQ that will be chosen where all representatives come to and National HQ of AOIN.

Re: Information
Now I understand that there was an HQ in Escambia, so I agree with it.
However, I propose separate facilities for the Courts, Treasury and Health departments.

Re: Information
The UN has separate offices for it. The general assembly in new York, as well as Geneva, Rome etc we could set it up so that several cities have ain institutions so that it's shared around the alliance.. It could increase role playing..
Re: Information
Here's how the UN does it:
Headquarters: New York (General Assembly)
Main Offices: Geneva (Palace of Nations, ILO, ITU, WHO, WIPO, WMO), Vienna (Regional Office, IAEA, UNIDO), Nairobi (Regional Office)
Other Offices: Bern (UPU), Rome (FAO, IFAD, WFP), Montréal (ICAO), London (IMO), Washington, DC (IMF), Paris (UNESCO), Madrid (UNWTO)
International Court: The Hague
Given that we don't necessarily have all of that, perhaps we could have the following offices spread around the AIN:
Headquarters: General Assembly (Executive, Department of Parliamentary Services(DPS), Department of Administrators, Election Centre
International Court: Department of Justice
Other Offices: AINSI, Department of Economy and Trade (DET), Department of Education, Safety and Health (DESH), Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Department of Transport and Infrastructure (DTI), AIN Games Federation (AGF)
In short, there is a good argument to have 8 locations instead of just 1.
