- Spoiler:
- On which side was your country during World War Two and why? (Allies or Axis powers, or neutral)
Cattala was an Ally until 1940, when a joint German-Italian attack forced the King to surrender and hand power over to Mussolini. Cattala was a part of the Axis until liberation in 1943.
Was your country a member of the League of Nations, and what was its relationship with Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan?
Cattala had been a member of the League of Nations from its creation, until the country was annexed by the Kingdom of Italy in 1940, when it was forced to withdraw from the basically-destroyed LON. Cattala had an extremely bad relationship with Nazi Germany, especially after it was threatened by the Luftwaffe and German U-boats. It had no relations with Japan following the Manchurian Crisis.
How was your country affected socially and politically during the war?
The beginning of World War Two unnerved many Cattalians, with tens of thousands more fleeing the country. In 1940 hundreds of Italian bombers attacked Celestine and destroyed the military base to the north of the city, wiped out the southern harbour and severely damaged over 4000 homes and Government offices, including the Parliament. German U-Boats and Italian naval submarines surrounded Jennai City and threatened to destroy the biggest city unless King Charles surrendered. He did, and was executed in Rome shortly. For the next three years Cattala was under the control of the Italians, who turned much of the countryside into air bases and training camps for Nazi and Fascist troops. As the war continued, British and American forces battled the axis frontline in Africa, and in 1943 the Italian troops were pushed back into Cattala where hostile and impoverished islanders assisted the allied soldiers with medicine, food, shelter and ammunition as both the Amadeus Resistance Army (named after the anti-Italian prince) and the British 8th Army battled with the fascists for months until the withdrawal when the British/Canadian/American coalition moved into Sicily on July the 10th 1943. Propaganda posters were shown across the UK and Cattala depicting a triumphant Britannia rescuing a near-death Catherina (national personification) from a furious and vast Italia, who is wearing the Nazi colours.
From the Cattala wiki
How strong was your country's military before, during and after the Second World War?
Cattala had a reasonable army before 1939, which had been developed during the 1930s. In 1939 the Government diverted massive resources into defence and protection, as politicians and the King worried about whether the Italians would invade. During the war, the Cattalian military was dissolved and members of the armed forces had to join the German and Italian regiments. After the war, the British assisted with the reformation of the army to protect Cattala in the future.
Did the Second World War change on your country? If so, in what ways?
Celestine, the capital, was destroyed by continuous bombing during 1940, and was rebuilt and renamed "Celeste" after the war ended. Hundreds of thousands of people were killed by Allied and Axis attacks during the course of the war, and poverty was extremely common during the war. For the next 30 years, there was huge distrust between the public and Italy/Germany, and the memories of the war still haunt survivors. Patriotism and support for the British Empire rose dramatically, especially after the war when the British Government assisted in the redevelopment of Cattala, as part of a friendly occupation until 1952.

Re: Day 3
Arcacia and Lycanthia remained neutral in principle, but we were, of course, on the side of the Allies. With no military to speak of, we were terrified of a Japanese invasion. Thankfully, our part of the Pacific was patrolled by the French, Australian, New Zealand and US Navies.
The Arcacian Coast Guard was born during WWII with 3 frigates purchased from the United States. They had a baptism of fire when a Japanese midget submarine was spotted in Yorke Bay. With no other weapons apart from a deck cannon, the frigate RS Cliffton took aim and fired at a black shadow in the water. The gunner was recorded to have remarked: "I hope that's not a whale."
It wasn't and the sub was sunk. The body of the sub was given to Australia who were able to use the metal for scrap. The bodies of the submariners were cremated and repatriated after the war.
Arcacia's attitude towards Germany was one of utter hostility. The Nazi regime flew in the face of everything that Arcacia held dear. Meanwhile, Lycanthians were angry and frightened by the Nazi occupation of France. Most had family and/or friends there.
When the Japanese bombed Darwin in 1942, the war came too close to home and if it hadn't been for the sacrifices made by ANZAC troops on the Kokoda trail in defense of Australia, and the tireless efforts by the US Navy in the Pacific, Arcacia would not have stood a chance. The President at the time, George Marshall, remarked: "If Australia falls, we fall."
Arcacia was not a member of the League of Nations, but did join the UN shortly after it was established.
After the was was over, Arcacia breathed a sigh of relief. The relationship with Australia was stronger than ever and and an open border policy was put in place.
Arcacia still did not militarise, but did purchase an additional 2 frigates from the US to add to the Coast Guard fleet.
Apart from a few years of uncertainty, Arcacia was untouched. After the fall of the Nazis and Japan and the liberation of France, Lycanthia experienced an influx as the family and friends of Lycanthians, cut off during the war, came home.
Neither country experienced any fatalities.

Re: Day 3
On which side was your country during World War Two and why? (Allies or Axis powers, or neutral)
Illu'a was part of the Allied forces, but supplied little in the way of troops. Some were sent to help America win back Guam and the Philippines.
Was your country a member of the League of Nations, and what was its relationship with Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan?
Illu'a had been a member of the League of Nations from its creation, until the end of the LON. Illu'a had a bad relationship with Japan over fears of invasion. Because of the Axis powers, this naturally extended to Germany.
How was your country affected socially and politically during the war?
Politically, Illu'a was put under restrictions in case of invasion. There was a set 10:00 curfew and lights had to be not visible from the outside. This was in effect from December 8, 1941 to October 10, 1943.
How strong was your country's military before, during and after the Second World War?
Before WWII, the military was in a slow buildup. During WWII, the military was at the largest in Illu'an history. After the war, protests about the money spent on the military forced cuts on the size of the military force.
Did the Second World War change on your country? If so, in what ways?
The Illu'a National Highway System was built along with more military bases. After the war, many military bases were converted, but the Illu'a National Highway System expanded due to the rising popularity in suburbs.

Re: Day 3
On which side was your country during World War Two and why?
Being a British colony, Fornax was sided with the Allies.
Was your country a member of the League of Nations, and what was its relationship with Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan?
Fornax is one of the British colony, which is a member for the League of Nations.
Before the Second Sino-Japanese War in 1937, Fornax remain neutral to Prenca. When the Sino-Japanese War took place and the Japanese victory over the Invasion of French Indochina, Britain, together with Australia, the US and the Dutch Government in exile, stop selling iron ore, steel and oil to Japan, forcing Japan to take control of supplies in South East Asia and Caroline regions.
How was your country affected socially and politically during the war?
Following the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941, Prenca and Lyra began its operation in the Caroline region. In January 1942, Mussau falls onto the Japanese rule. A quick vicory on Eauripik, Greater Ontong Java and Gilbert in February, and Cicone Delta Region and West Melanesia of Fornax and the rest of Raffore in March forced all Fornaxian, Australian and Dutch troops in the remaining territories of Fornax.
By April, the takeover of Abram Peninsula and Southwest Fornax force the country to surrender to the Japanese. The surreder lead Fornax to the Japanese Occupation, with the people of Fornax being treated badly by the Japanese. It was not until August 1943 when the whole of Fornax returned back to the British, with Raffore a month later. The whole Caroline region was return to its original Empire by 1944, before the Japanese Empire surrender a year later in 1945.
During the Japanese Occupation, Eastern Caroline countries change from Eastern Caroline time of UTC +11 to Tokyo Time of UTC +10. Fornaxian, Australian and Dutch troops were taken as POWs. People loyal to China or to any of the Western Powers except Germans and Italians were either sent to mass execution, known as Purging Massacre, or labour camps in various part of the countries. It is estimated that 567 000 were massacred, while another 1.9 million were sent to labour camps, including 200 000 dead under the labour camps treatment. Natives of the country were widely spared from massacre or forced labour.
Schools were forced to teach in Japanese language. The education system were change by the Propaganda authorities to suit the Japanese culture. Plans for a Japanese Invasion Currency to be issued throughout the Caroline region did not take off.
How strong was your country's military before, during and after the Second World War?
After WWI and before the Second Sino-Japanese War, Fornax military strength remains the same. After the Second Sino-Japanese War and evidence of Prenca strengthening its military, Fornax then strengthen its own military. Prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor, Fornax is just slightly weaker than Prenca.
A few hours after the attack on Pearl Harbor, Fornax's military is unable to defend against the Prencian troops. When Fornax surrendered, its military (including the Australian and Dutch troops) were outnumbered 2:3. All allied troops that were on Fornax during its surrender were made POWs. The number of Allied POW troops on Fornax went down during the course of the Japanese Occupation.
With the Japanese soldiers widely distributed its conquered territories and the constant attack on the Precian soil, the number of Japanese and Japanese-loyal soldiers went down. By the time Fornax was back into the Allies control, the Japanese and its loyals were outnumbered 2:5 within the Caroline region alone.
Did the Second World War change on your country? If so, in what ways?
It did severely change the whole political landscape of Fornax. Despite the British wise decision to make Fornax as a military production state, after the British regain control of the country after the Japanese Occupation, the minorities were treated with a lower class than the Westerners of the country. With that, and the rising Communism influence in Asia, a Communist stronghold in Fornax almost get rid of the British power over the country. But with the British persistance of preventing the Communist from taking over the country, the Fornax Communist Party fled to Raffore and it became independent from the British rule.
