- Spoiler:
- On which side was your country during the Cold War and why? (NATO or Soviet, or neutral)
Cattala was a member of NATO.
Did your country have a large communist supporting group during the Cold War?
Cattala was socialist during the 1970s, but there was very little support for communism as many saw it as a similar evil to fascism, which had ravaged Cattala during the Second World War.
How did the Cold War affect your country's military?
The Cielo Salvatore expanded steadily during the Cold War, and included a nuclear-capable Vulcan bomber and rapid deployment systems. The country came close to sealing a nuclear deal with the United States in the 1970s, but this fell through due to high costs. The Marino Salvatore also grew, and patrols in the eastern territorial waters became more frequent.
Were people worried about the Soviet Union?
People were concerned that a war would break out in continental Europe, which was the main protection barrier for Cattala. The threat of nuclear warfare also scared the islanders, because it wasn't a powerful nation and couldn't afford nuclear weapons.

~ On which side was your country during the Cold War and why? (NATO or Soviet, or neutral)
Arcacia and Lycanthia were both neutral. We both saw the cold war as a ridiculous power struggle. The President of Arcacia at the time, Logan Fairchild, once remarked to both the US President and Soviet Premier: "For f**k's sake! Why don't you just both whip them out, measure them and put this whole stupid chapter of world history behind us already!"
~ Did your country have a large communist supporting group during the Cold War?
No. There were communists, but they were seen as a fringe group of idiots and were not taken seriously by the population at large.
~ How did the Cold War affect your country's military?
It didn't.
~ Were people worried about the Soviet Union?
We were more worried about the Americans. As theonly country to actually use a nuclear weapon, it was seen as more of a thrate than the Soviets, who were seen as posturing.

Galbadia was a member of NATO,Galbadia during the Cold War was a protectorate of the United Kingdom
Did your country have a large communist supporting group during the Cold War?
Yes,during the cold war the population revolted by the high levels of government corruption have begun to create socialist movements throughout the country.
How did the Cold War affect your country's military?
with rising tensions, the military increased dramatically in Galbadia (New Oren at time),NATO planned to use the island as a base for combat operations with the possible socialist movements in latin america
Were people worried about the Soviet Union?
We were worried about a possible civil war between the socialists and the British government, but our fears were realized, the civil war brokeout in 1988 and ended in 1991 with the end of the Cold War and the victory of the socialists.

Re: Day 4
On which side was your country during the Cold War and why? (NATO or Soviet, or neutral)
The Atlantic Federation was neutral. The Emperor chose to remain neutral because that way, the Empire would receive more and more flattery from both Soviet and NATO sides. The Atlantic Federation (in fact, the Veratlantian Empire) was in a strategic position for both Soviet and NATO missiles, and we accepted keeping missiles from both sides. In 1996, all the remaining missiles from USSR and NATO on our territory was converted to the National Military, including nuclear ones.
Did your country have a large communist supporting group during the Cold War?
No. The country was a dictatoship. People were too busy trying to get rid of it.
How did the Cold War affect your country's military?
The Atlantic Federation [Veratlantian Empire at the time] received very significant amounts of nuclear weaponary from both NATO and USSR sides, besides all kind of mechanized veichcles. We can also say that 45% of our navy equipment and ships came from USA. The Veratlantian Empire empire also received American technology when many of our bases were used by USA to patrol the North Atlantic Ocean.
Were people worried about the Soviet Union?
No, the country was very closed at the time (dictatorship), news from outside were displayed, but due to the internal issues, people didn't think of the Cold War too much. The dictator often manipulated the information regarding external issues, and most of times people couldn't understand what was hapening outside, once the information was edited by the government to be very controversial. (and so avoiding pro/against movements inside the country)

Re: Day 4

Illu'a was a member of NATO.
Did your country have a large communist supporting group during the Cold War?
The Communist Party gained some support in Illu'a, particularly among labor unions. However, all communists were driven out of elected positions by 1950.
How did the Cold War affect your country's military?
The Illu'a Forces slowly reduced the size of the army, while keeping the navy and air force around World War II numbers. In the 1970's reductions in the navy+air force brought troop levels to what it is today.
Were people worried about the Soviet Union?
People were concerned with either the Americans or Soviets launching a nuke and having ICBMs rain down on Illu'a.

Re: Day 4
Corraile was a member of NATO due to British and American pressures on the Colonial Government. Not to mention, Corraile was (and is) in the North Atlantic region, with a strategic location close to Greenland and the Arctic Circle.
During the Cold War, there was a tiny communist movement, but due to close American and British ties, they were not taken seriously as a threat by the government or the general population. Socialism, however, was gaining ground throughout the 1950s, with the Socialist Party winning the elections of 1956, 1961 and 1966.
Also, Corraile's Armed forces were quickly increased due to the potential threat from Soviet attacks. Many WWII era equipment were quickly retired, replaced by those of both Britain and America, with aircraft such as the F-104G Starfighter and the English Electric Lightning. Large KC-135 Stratotankers were procured by the RBCAF to refuel USAF B-52 and B-47 bombers patrolling the North Atlantic. The ground forces were largely the same as before, with only minor changes present throughout the Cold War. The Navy too, was quickly improved with modern frigates and destroyers, capable of repelling a Soviet attack fleet until reinforcements arrived from the USA.
During those times, Corrailites were extremely worried about a nuclear fallout from a possible nuclear attack on large metropolitan areas around the country such as New York and Boston. However, they were largely calmed by the fact that the Soviets did not ever use a nuclear weapon in war or that Corraile maintained an extremely strong relationship with the United States.
