European Defence Alliance

The EDA is a military alliance created by the Tirn Empire, and the initial member states are the Tirnreich and the Royal and Holy Kingdom of Cattala. The EDA will give AIN nations within the continent of Europe a chance of stronger military ties with their neighbouring nations that aren't in the EU.
Over the next decade, the European Defence Alliance will be assisting in the construction of Cattala's first aircraft carrier and will forge military coalitions between participating nations. Summits between the member states will also take place.

The European Defence Alliance has not been created to strain relations with the Hiigaran Confederacy. The EDA is a military coalition for international conflicts, and the Hiigaran Confederacy is welcome to join.
Cattala wishes to improve relations with the Hiigaran Confederacy, because we both share islands in the Greek Peninsular (Crete and Rhodes). A treaty can be signed between the EDA and Hiigara if necessary, to prevent strains on relations.

Reason for wanting observer status: Corraile would like to cement ties with its allied European states, such as Cattala, and to create similar friendships amongst other European Nations which have had little or no diplomatic contacts with Corraile. Furthermore, such military alliances will help contribute to the well-being of each others' militaries as they can develop, exchange and share ideas amongst each other.

As of press time, the Tirnreich will assume spearhead operations in response to promotion and running of the EDA. Once we have a clear/stable roster, we will begin to assign roles/expos.

Syldavia is not Europe, it is right next to China. European Russia technically ends at the Ural Mountains, I think.
Tirnreich is the head nation in the EDA, as the founding state.

Hiigaran Confederacy Leaders will gather in New Port on the matter of this. Right now "Radical Liberal Clans of Hiigara" have started claiming that the creation of this org. is to control Hiigara. The more left, see that Hiigara should join the organization.

By no means is the EDA trying to take over anybody. This is merely a cooperative organization to support the European member states.

To be honest, I forgot Hiigara had land in Europe. Still, Hiigara would be welcomed to the EDA with open arms

Earlier in AINs history there was something like this and it sorta made a lot of people mad because it was like an alliance within the alliance and sort of caused the union to split between who was in it and who wasn't.

This is not a professional thing by any means, it's a little roleplay thing - it won't cause a split. Plus it's only a handful of nations (small nations, too) that are involved.

Today the Hiigaran Confederacy has voted for not going in to any conflict whit the new organization. 56% supported the idea of neutrality to the organization, but there wore many and the rulling party has been totally against the joining and against working together. Sajuuk Khar the religioise leader has said - "The main worries location of the military bases near Hiigara and this can be a tread to the Confederacy and the religion of Kran'et, we will be looking at this closer, if we don't see any tread we will support the idea of joining."

There is no threat to the Hiigaran Confederacy, and never will be. Cattala, the closest member of the EDA wishes to build strong economic and military links with the Confederacy in the future.
