Bruxelas History
Bruxelas is the administrative centre and capital of Fairview with a population of 455.000 people. The city has both Medieval and Roman ruins but most of the present attractive older buildings were constructed after the disastrous earthquake of 1755. The Moors who occupied the town in the 8th Century originally gave the city it the name of Brossolas and developed it into a trading port until 1249. They were then defeated by the forces of Dom Afonso III. With the decline of the importance of the city of Londres this town took over the role of administration of Fairview area. Another interesting point is that during the 500 years of Moorish occupation there were some Jewish inhabitants in Bruxelas who were kept busy printing copies of the Old Testament.
Bruxelas - Description
Particularly attractive is the renascentist part of the city surrounded still by the large avenues which date back to the 17th. Inside a spacious open square that was once the site of the National Forum is a 16th Century Cathedral that faces the 17th Century Episcopal palace. An interesting building is the neighbouring 16th Century Convent that is now turned into the home of the city’s archaeological museum. Within it is a section devoted to the Arab occupation. The "golden" church of Nossa Senhora da Luz is claimed to be the best example of gold-leaf woodwork in southern Fairview. Next to the small boat basin bordering the Praça do Município is a small Literature Museum composed of old books and enciclepidias showing the maritime history of the coast. Much of the city is now composed of modern skyscrapers and aprtements and there are attractive shops and a particularly artistic theatre.
Events
The municipal council has an active cultural department organizing different and various events during the year.

Bruxelas is also known as the Modern Art Capital, Art of the 18th/19th and 20th centuries. Bruxelas Council supports the art and specially, the new talents like Ricardus Fabricius a 17 years old, student of Bruxelas Arts University and he is a genius. I will left you here a paint of Ricardus of our Cathedral:

Re: Bruxelas for Foreign Affairs AIN Head Quarters
Bruxeeelas..., the city of inspiration, the city of the aromas, the city that Fado is present in all people who admire this city.
Fado is a Fairviewnse type of music, in fact an elegant music, all Sundays a great part of the is together is the Central Plaza seated on the caffe esplanades. Many bands choice to sing and play Fado, why? Because it is just beautiful, this is maybe one ( if not the biggest) characteristic of Bruxelas... Here another Fado group performing in the Central Plaza...
But...it isn't just music, our gastronomy and the excelent wine makes this city a romantic and glamourous city, unique in the world.
While you visit Bruxelas you can go to "Manel da Feijoada" where you can taste the best food of the world, have you ever taste "Polvo à Lagareiro" our best plate, acompanied of a Bouro Rose wine? Or just pass in the pastry shop "Doce e Não Amargo" in the Central Plaza in front of the fortress, where the best cakes and sweeties are made?
And the sweeties...
The Central Plaza where everyone meet in the Sundays afternoon, people talk with each other in the caffee, drink a tea or a coffe with milk, eat a Pastel de Nata and enjoy the Fado, in the Central Plaza we have many caffes, the national theatre, the city hall, the cathedral, the famous "Quatre Seasons" shopping center and lots of others places to enjoy the free times. The History says that Central Plaza was built in early 1689 year, to give to people a place of welfare and comfort. Early 1976 , this place was remodelated and cutted to the transit, after that the City Council fomented the investiment in tourist and leisure activities and spaces, likes caffes and musicals in the square.
