- Spoiler:
- What political system does your country currently follow?
Cattala has a monarchy, and an elected, democratic Government. It is similar to the Westminster system.
How much power does your country's head of state have?
Queen Alexandra can dissolve parliament at any time, she seals elections, where she decides whether a candidate is ready for the role of Lord Celestine, and she has signs legislature into law and can veto them, but that rarely happens. The country cannot go to war without the Royal and Holy Majesty's approval, which was refused during the Iraq War.
What type of political party leads your country at this time?
Currently a Conservative government rules Cattala - it is strongly in support of the monarchy and dislikes the European Union. It is in support of further military spending and environmental economic growth, but is not in support of privatisation.
How popular is your current Government?
The current Government's approval rating has risen by 9% over the past year to 46%, as the economy continues to grow after a period of uncertainty. It's lead in the polls over the opposition Democratic party has stabilised at around 18%, and a further 6% over the Il Popolo party.
Does your country have any other political parties? If so, state how popular they are and what their policies are, if possible.
The two major opposition parties are the Democratic party, which has around 28% of public support currently. They are a centre-left party that believes in a combination of public and private economic growth, a focus on education and healthcare over the military and stronger eco-friendly energy production. During the 1960s, the party was socialist, and supported a state-directed economy. Since then, it has become more centrist and less left-wing.
The other opposition party is the Il Popolo party, which has around 22% of public support currently. They are a left-wing authoritarian party that was in power during the 1990s, and is focused on increasing military spending further and is anti-European Union. It supports nationalisation.
