Day 8
Welcome back to the Alliance Centre, for Day Eight of the Minor Summit IV.I.
Today we'll begin our Future section of this summit, and we'll be looking at the future of transport in your country. Please use the questions in your answers.
~ Is your country planning to use high speed rail and maglev in the future?
~ What ways of combating traffic congestion in urban areas is your country looking to use in the future?
~ Will your country be investing in electrical vehicle infrastructure (like charge points) over the next 10 years? If so, how?
~ What other ways is your country planning to increase public transport usage, and reduce congestion?

Example
- Spoiler:
- Is your country planning to use high speed rail and maglev in the future?
Cattala has no plans currently to use high speed rail or maglev, however the PS1 line between Jennai and Cape Almae will allow the Pendolino class trains to travel at 135mph. Currently the speed restriction is 100mph. A report will be issued by the end of the year to determine the future of Cattala's railways.
What ways of combating traffic congestion in urban areas is your country looking to use in the future?
There are plans being drafted to construct an underground network in Jennai to reduce congestion in the city in the future, and a tram system is being considered for Calora and Celeste. The planned Jennai-Cape Almae motorway is also set to be built by 2014.
Will your country be investing in electrical vehicle infrastructure (like charge points) over the next 10 years? If so, how?
Plans are afoot to build over 1300 electric charge points in Jennai alone over the next five years, and the country is predicted to have 40% electric vehicles by 2015 - the Government is very pro-electric vehicles.
What other ways is your country planning to increase public transport usage, and reduce congestion?
Taxation on smaller vehicles is near-zero, so small vehicles that are eco-friendly are much cheaper and more attractive to buy, which means smaller vehicles will be more common in urban areas and reduce pollution and congestion. Buses and train services are run by the Government's Transport Ministry, which means fares are highly subsidised and are becoming cheaper.

Re: Day 8
~ Is your country planning to use high speed rail and maglev in the future?
No. It is not really necessary as even with standard rail, crossing the country takes around 30 minutes.
~ What ways of combating traffic congestion in urban areas is your country looking to use in the future?
There is the possibility of a freeway that would take cross-country traffic away from the city centres. At present, driving from Redding City to Providence means that you have to go through the centre of Yorke and Broadablin on your way. This increases traffic in those cities. The problem is space, which is scarce. One proposal put forward is an underground tunnel, which would surface between cities, but most of the 40km span would be underground.
~ Will your country be investing in electrical vehicle infrastructure (like charge points) over the next 10 years? If so, how?
Electric vehicle charge stations are already available, though there are only a handful, as there are only a handful of electric cars. If electric cars look set to replace combustion engine vehicles on a large scale, then more infrastructure will be invested in as demand increases.
~ What other ways is your country planning to increase public transport usage, and reduce congestion?
Public transport is already free and it is possible to get from anywhere to anywhere else via public transport, usually in under an hour. More stations and/or lines will be built should the need arise.

Re: Day 8
~ Is your country planning to use high speed rail and maglev in the future?
Yes, if our neighbours countries (Russia, North Korea and China) do the same. 'Cause we have a railway that crosses borders and goes with the trans-Siberian railway.
~ What ways of combating traffic congestion in urban areas is your country looking to use in the future?
See last question's answer.
~ Will your country be investing in electrical vehicle infrastructure (like charge points) over the next 10 years? If so, how?
We already have those in Vladivostok Centre, we'll look forward to more development of this technology to see if it'll be rent-able to expand it across the country.
~ What other ways is your country planning to increase public transport usage, and reduce congestion?
Syldavian uses public transport most of the time. Train - Subway (Metro) - Tramway - Buses... But there's a express high way in construction between Klow and Vladivostok.

Re: Day 8
Is your country planning to use high speed rail and maglev in the future?
Maglev, no. However, slow improvements to the Colbitz-Strathmore Central Corridor line is slowly speeding up the ocrridor for HSR speeds.
What ways of combating traffic congestion in urban areas is your country looking to use in the future?
Most cities are calling for an increase in mass transit. There are currently 3 new rail lines under construction in Illu'a. Road expansion projects are less common, and new freeways are almost uncalled for.
Will your country be investing in electrical vehicle infrastructure (like charge points) over the next 10 years? If so, how?
There are a few electric charge points in Illu'a. More will be built with a combination of private investment and government subsidies.
What other ways is your country planning to increase public transport usage, and reduce congestion?
There is currently a bill in Illu'an Congress that would increase taxes on larger vehicles and on gasoline. Expansion of reliable transportation services is how the government is planning to increase public transport usage.

Re: Day 8
Is your country planning to use high speed rail and maglev in the future?
HSR is already in commercial service with the HyperExpress. By EU definitions, however, it is not a HSR, with trains going a maximum speed of 204km/h on purpose-built tracks. This due to the fact that the 3 urban areas on the Corrailite Peninsula are only around 150-odd kilometres away.
What ways of combating traffic congestion in urban areas is your country looking to use in the future?
Already the CentreburgMetro has one of the highest riderships in North America. Not to mention, that 67% of Corrailites in Urban Areas take public transport, such as subways, buses, HSR and even commuter rail to work or leisure everyday. Already in the pipeline is the further development of a straight underground, 8-lane highway connecting Gateway Airport to the Centreburg City Centre, as well as continually expanding the highways already present in the city.
Will your country be investing in electrical vehicle infrastructure (like charge points) over the next 10 years? If so, how?
Electric car Charge Points are already present. Most changes will be linked to public usages, such as the adoption of electric powered scooters for tasks such as mail delivery. Also, like Arcacia, electric car infrastructure will be developed on a large basis should electric cars look set to replace internal combustion engines on a large scale.
What other ways is your country planning to increase public transport usage, and reduce congestion?
Public Transport is already well-utilised and complemented by other forms of transportation. A CUT Tax (Car Usage Tax) may be implemented to increase the price of cars, so as to reduce the demand for vehicles. Upgrades to the public transport system, such as signals upgrades on older subway and commuter rail lines, will also improve efficiency on these systems.

~ Is your country planning to use high speed rail and maglev in the future?
We already use HSR, and is planning to use maglev in the future
~ What ways of combating traffic congestion in urban areas is your country looking to use in the future?
Improved Traffic Monitoring Systems, the increase of subways, which before had a major earthquake threat, and improvement of freeways
~ Will your country be investing in electrical vehicle infrastructure (like charge points) over the next 10 years? If so, how?
Yes, by creating government issued Electric Car chargers on public buildings, and giving gas stations credit if they to had placed electrical chargers. We also plan to change all of our normal rail lines to electric in the coming year.
~ What other ways is your country planning to increase public transport usage, and reduce congestion?
Offering Yearly passes, and improvement of freeways

Re: Day 8
~ Is your country planning to use high speed rail and maglev in the future?
Yes. The Tirnreich already uses HSR, mainly to connect diplomatic centers, but will be used to connect the capital, the Simlympic Park, and the regional Tirnland International Airport in the future.
As for Maglev technology, the Tirnreich has contracted Zebirlon Labs back in 2007 to direct a research facility at Kasli Point. The Tirnreich would like to be fully operational with Maglev tech by the time other European nations are, so we are able to get integrated into other nation's transportation systems.
~ What ways of combating traffic congestion in urban areas is your country looking to use in the future? The Tirnreich is looking into using roadway tunnels to cater to long distance drivers; so instead of having a clogged ground level roadway, we will have an evened out system above and below grade.
~ Will your country be investing in electrical vehicle infrastructure (like charge points) over the next 10 years? If so, how?
The Tirnreich already has recharge stations in coordination with other Euro countries, but full integration of electronic automotive transportation is at least 10 years off.
~ What other ways is your country planning to increase public transport usage, and reduce congestion?
Tirnreich is currently starting to use electronic street trams to increase usage of the public transportation systems.
