The ones that are in Pripat are ones made by Simhotty. Look for them in the STEX and you'll find it.

EDIT: I have some suggestions for you....
1. Those apartments repeat too much, add some low wealth parks or anything next to them. It makes them more diverse, or you can just destroy some of them.
2. The grid is on, turn it off.
3. As I said earlier, use the buildingplop cheat!!! Just zone accordingly what the building's zone size is, then you're able to plop it. Make sure it's EXACT!!! Or else it will abandon. This applies to residential buildings, commerical and indsutrial can be plopped without zoning first.

1. Working on this, will post development pictures tomorrow. But I also recommend to to get familiar with urban planning in (ex-) soviet states.

3. I am using the cheat but it's giving me slight headache because although I zone 7x1 or 8x2 zones for the pripiat tenements the buildings still abandon.

Ideal helicopter shot of different building styles in Altai:
Lower right corner, a residential building presenting Stalinist Architecture (finished 1944) and in the same corner an 'ultra' modern high rise.
Left middle, a typical housing block from the Soviet era, finished in the 50's and below is a functionalist high rise from the 80's.
Top left, offices built after 90's.
Top middle, office high rise from the 70's.
Bottom left, new apartment buildings and an older, re painted, concrete block from the 60's. And next to them new office space.

Regional plan. Yellow zones are planned to be rural/agricultural areas, whereas teal area will be incorporated into Barnaul city. An empty "unzoned" square between the rural and urban area east of Barnaul is the suggested International Airport location. Finally green areas are unplanned, mostly uninhabited and forested areas.

Hey thanks for the links, fabulous pictures! But I have to point out that although New Altai Republic is a former part of the Soviet Union/Russian Federation the country is a parliamentary democracy and has a relatively low population (average 12people/km2). The region has been technically developing separately from Russia for about 5 years now and there has been a significant influx of skilled workers and business immigrants since 2005, mainly from Germany but other European countries as well as China and Russia and because of them there is also a lot of modern accommodation available, along the old concrete blocks.

If you still wish to see more pictures before voting on my application I will provide them as soon as I can but before that I must finish the festivities regarding the national day (8th Nov.).

I agree with you since I've done something similar with you. It have been 21 years since Syldavia was out of the USSR and totally free.

Oh... I see now, well I think the application is fine with me then! Just need to add more European custom content and your set!

Here is another picture update for Barnaul (city):


A new, contemporary, muslim centre and hotel in Barnaul. Most ethnic Kazakhs in the Republic practice islam and all together there are some 80,000 muslims in Altai.


Kaufland. Since the first German skilled migrants entered Altai, almost instantly behind them the German hypermarket chain followed. Kaufland operates currently 28 stores around the New Altai Republic.


Zaunhaus (pl. Zaunäuser) / за́унхayсь. "Fence housing", one of the many establishments built in 2005 outside the major cities to house the German migrants in safety and comfort, that's why the name. Most Zaunhäuser have a variety of services available to satisfy the needs of the residents. For example the one in the picture has a cinema, 2 supermarkets, "department store", gas station, football pitch, pharmacy, library, school and 2 bars. Most Zaunhäuser also employ a private security company to protect its premises.


This picture is for the archives, houses in the middle are to be demolished in the near future. Local government is currently searching for replacement accommodation for the current residents.
