Cattala drops Alliance Province

Cattala's Parliament has voted to axe the Alliance Province and incorporate affected areas into the former borders of Central Cattala, Almae-Ontano and Jennai Province. Alliance Province is the youngest of the eight provinces, having been created in 1994. Since then it's been a failure as a province, with the local parliament collapsing in 2005 and no local elections being held since then. The province costs £34m a year to finance, a cost that Lord Celestine has said is "inconsiderate" to other public services, where "the money could be better spent". The Mayor of Alleanza town, which is the capital of Alliance Province, has said that it is "outrageous" that the residents are being "ignored" by the Government. Public support for the axing of Alliance Province has risen since the last election.
