Re: Day Three
Call it bad luck, I suppose. There are a number of countries that haven't featured yet.
The Winter Games are about a third the size of the Summer Games in terms of the number of events. This is the largest number of countries we've ever had competing. Less medal chances + more countries competing = less chance of medalling.
It is entirely possible that there will be countries that don't see a medal of any colour at all.
Just for the record, I don't do the results, the AGF does and sends them to me so I can do the graphics. The same process as last time is being followed with regard to PAS points and event scoring.
The only comfort I can offer is that it's only day 3. There are still 13 days left. There are still 73 gold medals to be decided.

Re: Day Three
Its not the medals I'm worried about... It's just I haven't seen any mention of Ascadylea except in the Opening Ceremonies... I'm not pointing any fingers or anything... I would at least like to lose something... Just to see my name would be sufficient.. LOL..
I would love to see the secret of the PAS and how this works... btw...maybe someone could show me (the Minister of Culture Arts and Sport) how an event works via PM

Re: Day Three
I could explain it to you jj, as I'm the one doing the results.. But as you can see I've only had a fourth place.. The events that have taken place so far Ascadylea has not entered all of them and the ones that it has it has entered minimal pas points. The results are random generated via pas points and a sequence generator.
Re: Day Three
Here's how it works:
PAS points work like tickets in a raffle. When an event is run, nations are given a block of numbers based on how many points they have in that event.
For example: Say there are 3 countries competing in an event. The first has entered 10 points, the second has entered 20 and the third has entered 30. Right away you see that the third team has a 50% chance of winning.
The first team gets numbers 1-10, the second team gets numbers 11-30 and the third team gets numbers 31-60.
A random sequence generator is then used. In this case, the first 4 numbers are: 19, 53, 16, 50
Meaning that the second team wins gold, the third team wins silver, the second team wins bronze, the third team comes fourth and the first team is nowhere to be seen.
Therefore, though entering PAS points into an gives you a chance, it by no means is a guarantees a placing. Also, just having the most points in a given event is no guarantee of winning.
