A tentative next bid
I plan to bid for the next Simlympics (well I don't give up, do I?), but I don't want to have to fight with another AIN country again. So... If someone else is already bidding, then I shall bid for the next ISC session.
Any suggestions?

ISC since there are other AIN nations who are bidding for Simlympics. I'll support you

Well i'd say bid, together you could help each other further your bids. Besides that with your union size, I would bet that multiple members would bid every simlympics because of sheer numbers. Whatever you do, good luck.

ISC Session is way easier to bid for and to host, the ISC really likes people who host those first, then bid later. I do remember that Paranor Island (SCJU) and Petrova (AIN, obviously), after they hosted it, were able to host the actual games a bit later with ease. Plus, it gives you a small but helpful taste of how the ISC works, which is what I got out of it when I hosted it.
As far as the evidence on Simsports so far, I believe Huston and Zack are bidding. Wacky probably will (he does quite a bit ), I probably will, and Nate, with his new country he made for UCOM, is showing interest as well. So it sounds like it'll be a pretty heated competition, but you already have 3 AIN members against you
EDIT: I am really glad you aren't giving up by the way, those last games that you, Jon, and Miguel were going for was extremely close, closer than I have seen in all two years I have been on SS. So, I am really glad you aren't downhearted, and I am sure your next bid will be really big (remember: Peter lost an ISC session AND a Simlympic bid before he could host the games 2-3 years later, and it's probably the best games to date).

That'll be interesting diplomatically if a UCOM state wins... Anyone else sensing a 1980 Moscow Olympics rerun?

I doubt the ISC would say interesting is the right word.

That won't happen... because (almost) everyone would boycott the games, leaving UCOM vs. UCOM + a few insignificant countries

I would suggest full bid because you have good infrastructure in Corraile as it was hosting AIN games.

Are you kidding? That wouldn't happen in a hundred million years.emperordaniel wrote:will wrote:that would be quite interestiong, ucom.v. usnw/ain/everyone else really.

First off. There are well over 100 countries and very few are in unions, and one of the biggest unions in the Simlympics, the SCJU, couldn't care less about the entire Nate drama (except when he attacks SCJU, but they still wouldn't boycott the games). If the AIN did boycott the games it would make AIN as a union look incredibly sore and spiteful, since, if UCOM wins, then AIN got defeated, and now you would be sitting out because you don't like who won, and you can't make an argument to the fact that you were a sore loser. Plus, the ISC stomps on union bickering on Simsports very quick.
Point is: AIN wont ruin their reputation over one lost game by boycotting it.
EDIT: This topic is well off-topic by now

I could sit here and say that it's not you who has to make the decision about an AIN boycott. I could also say that you probably need to advise people closer to home what you see in your crystal ball before advising us.
But I won't say that, because the chances of Nate winning are quite small.

I could say that Nate could go fuck himself.
But I won't say that, because that would be unbecoming.
Oh, the hell with it.
Nate can go fuck himself.

Since this is the case then we should probably forget UCOM winning and get back onto the original topic...? (Not trying to be bossy)
