Nanzhao has a very large, growing economy where many companies are seeing a large growth in sales especially as more people than ever are classified as middle class with around 50 - 80 million of them.
As of 2009 more than 5,000 foriegn companies operate in Nanzhao some of them include; Ikea, Addidas, Samsung, Mercedes Benz and Mcdonalds.
There is potential to use Nanzhao as a stepping stone in to South East/East Asia where there is a potential 2.3 Billion customers.

Nanzhao has an ever expanding market-oriented economy thats has since 1980 seen a year on year growth of around 7 - 10% and this has brought millions out of poverty.
Nanzhao's economy is quite diverse but there is five main pillar industries; Recycling, Mining, Manufacturing, Metallurgy and Agriculture. and they each contribute a very large part of Nanzhao's economy. In 2010 exports stood at $773.8 billion. Nanzhao's large economy has been helped by the fact it is surrounded by some wealthy nations surrounding including; Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong.
While many nations including some SCJU nations fell into reccessions during the global financial crisis, Nanzhao grew strong at 6.0% and in 2010 Nanzhao saw a GDP growth of 7.9%, this has been reduced as most of the growth comes from Exports that fell but domestic spending rose 170% with many products being subsidised by the government in it's stimulus package and it saw a growth of 200% in Automible sales and a 150% growth in electronic products and has made Nanzhao a place where some companies that are struggling else where grow.
Nanzhao is an active member in many international economic groups such as APEC and the WTO. Nanzhao is also a member of Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) and is part of the ASEAN Free Trade area which covers South East Asia.
Other Free Trade Areas that are associated with ASEAN include: China, India, Japan, South Korea and Australia and New Zealand.

Guangzhen attracts nearly 30% of the FDI that Nanzhao recieves so it has been ommited from the list so that other cities can develop their image more with the international community.
Kunming is the Capital and Largest city in Yunnan Province. Kunming is also the Second Largest City in Nanzhao in terms of Population with over 4 Million. in the Urban area.
Kunming is a very green city when compared to other cities of similar size in Nanzhao and Asia and this is due to the very good amount of local sustainable energy sources such as Geothermal and Hydroelectric.
Kunming's chief industries are the production of copper, lead and zinc; its iron and steel industry has been greatly expanded. Salt and phosphate mines around Kunming are some of the largest in Nanzhao Yunnan Copper Company Limited is one of Yunnan's largest mining corporations based in Kunming. Beginning in the late 1970s, Kunming's main industries also came to include food and tobacco processing and the manufacture of construction equipment and machines.
Kunming is also a centre of the engineering industry, manufacturing machine tools, electrical machinery and equipment and automobiles (including heavy goods vehicles). It has a major chemical industry, as well as plastics, cement works and textile factories. Its many processing plants, which include tanneries and woodworking and papermaking factories, use local agricultural products.
Kunming has a high concentration of foreign retailers and is already home to four Carrefours, one B&Q, one Metro and three Wal-Marts.Kunming also boasts three Watson's outlets and a growing number of international fast food outlets such as McDonald's, KFC and Pizza Hut. Louis Vuitton recently opened an outlet in Kunming, in the luxury-focused Gingko Shopping Centre in the city's centre. Gingko is also home to outlets of high-end goods by Salvatore Ferragamo, Chanel, Versace, Mont Blanc and Burberry. France-based luxury brand Hermes chose Gingko in Kunming as the location for its first mainland retail outlet two years ago. Luxury automobile companies are also making their presence felt in Kunming. Big names including Mercedes-Benz, Maserati, Lexus and Porsche have dealerships in Kunming.

Changsha is the Capital and largest city in Hunan Province. Changsha is the third largest city in Nanzhao with just over 4 million in it's Urban area
Changsha is an economically important city due to to it's closeness to Nanzhao's biggest neighbour and largest trading partner China where the city has good rail, road and river connections to China making trade easy.
The city is now a major port, handling rice, cotton, timber, and livestock, and is also a collection and distribution point on the railway from Hankou, China to Guangzhen. It is a centre of rice milling and also has oil-extraction, tea- and tobacco-curing, and meat-processing plants. Its textile industry produces cotton yarn and fabrics and engages in dyeing and printing. Agricultural chemicals and fertilizers, farm implements, and pumping machinery are also produced.
Changsha has a large thermal generating station linked by a power grid with the nearby industrial centres of Zhuzhou and Xiangtan; the three cities were designated in the 1970s as the nucleus of a major industrial complex. In the 1960s there was some development of heavy industry. The manufacture of machinery, especially machine tools and precision tools, became important, and Changsha became a center of Nanzhao's aluminum industry.The city also has cement, rubber, ceramic, and papermaking plants and is a centre for many types of traditional handicrafts, producing hsiang embroidery, leather goods, umbrellas, and buttons. Coal is mined in the vicinity.
Changsha is one of Nanzhao's top 10 "economically advanced" cities with a very high GDP per Capita compared to other cities.

Foshan is the Largest city and Capital of West Guangdong Province. Foshan is the Fourth largest Manufacturing base around the Pearl River Delta. With an Urban Population of 3.5 Million.
