Bidding for the V Alliance Winter Games
It is with great pleasure that the Alliance Games Federation would like to announce that bidding for the V Alliance Winter Games is now open.
Bidding is open to all Member States and Associate Member States of the Alliance who have a suitable cold climate to be able to facilitate the running of a Winter Games. Bidding Cities must be endorsed by the National Alliance Games Association (AGA) of the Bidding Country.
Those countries wishing to bid for the Games must open a new thread on behalf of their AGA's chosen bid city.
To be successful in the bidding process the bidding city must be/have the following:
- A Logo and Slogan
- A city of 60,000 or greater (exemptions may be granted)
- An international standard airport - or suitable alternative arrangement
- A suitable transport system able to transport large volumes of visitors and Athletes
Venue list:
- 3 Separate Indoor Arenas for Ice Hockey, Figure Skating, Short track Speed Skating
- Curling - Smaller arena or outdoor curling court (Curling is usually 10 lanes on a rink)
- Speed Skating - A speed skating oval could be a larger arena or stadium (domed or not)
- Cross Country-A Long Hilly Course
- Biathlon - Long Hilly Course with some flat zones and with stations for the rifle portions
- Snowboarding - Mountain slalom course for skiing (Course to be added later, just show us where it'd be located)
- Alpine-Slalom,
- Giant Slalom, Super G - All use roughly the same course (Also to be
added later, just show us where it'd be located) - Ski-Jumping - (Jumps to be added later, just show us where it'd be located)
- Freestyle events - (Jumps/Gates etc to be added later, just show us where it'd be located)
- Luge/Bobsleigh/Skeleton-A Sliding track that winds down a mountainside
Also Needed:
- Athlete's Village
- Media Centre
- Stadium suitable for Opening and Closing Ceremonies
- Attractions, tourist sites
An Opening and Closing ceremony also needs to be held with the appropriate AIN emblems included (AIN Anthem etc)
The more professional and realistic your bid the greater the chances of your bid succeeding.

Bidding for the IV Alliance Winter Games will open on the 18 th of December 2011 and close on the 28th of January 2012 No exceptions

Does it ever snow in Townsville, Australia? I'd bid if it does but otherwise it's kinda pointless and i'll see about the sixth alliance games instead.
