Day 4: AIN Games, C.O.I, Judicial Court, Member Activeness
AIN Games
The AIN Games dates back to the beginning of the union. This event has been a successful event. But lately, the games have died. Let’s bring the glory of the games back. The reason for the sudden discontinuation of the summer games of Escambia was the discontinuation of the scores. How can we make sure this doesn’t happen again?
When should we have our next games? Will you be bidding? How can we make the games more interesting?
Chamber of Intelligence
In the General Discussions forum, there is a subforum called “Chamber of Intelligence”. This section was formerly named “suggestions”. Please do not misunderstand by thinking that all you can do is suggest new features. Should you have any concerns, questions, ideas, law ideas, event ideas, or anything else pertaining to the union, please do not hesitate to do make a post on your ideas!
One thing we can’t stress enough is that we don’t you all to think that the admins run everything. Everyone has a say, and not just in summits. The admins are not formed by “legacy members” and in a day or two, we will be discussing the general elections dealing with newly opened office positions.
Judicial Court
This issue has been in debate since Spring of 2009. A major aim of the this summit is to solve this issue.
What will the judicial court do? Who should be in the judicial court? Where is our constitution?
Member Activeness
Member activity is a major problem in AIN. People sign in, but don’t post or reply or comment. Half of the registered members are actual AIN members and half of the actual AIN members are actually active on a daily basis. We understand that there is school and work, but all we ask for is for replying of posts. The city notebooks section is dead, we are trying to bring that back from the dead. The general discussion section is dead and that should be the most active place in AIN.
To help remedy this, every two weeks, there will be a new game in the games section. But that alone won’t help make the union active again.
What should we do?

Re: Day 4: AIN Games, C.O.I, Judicial Court, Member Activeness
One thing I also noticed is that we are the worst support group ever. I mean if there's a simlympic bid or a newly released update on simtropolis or simsports, rarely does it get a reply from AIN. And I have to admit that I havent been doing a good job of that myself.
Like if you look at SCJU or COFR, they are die-hard supporters of their people. If there's a bid, COFR and SCJU are best at commenting on bids and posts by their people. We need to be active again y'all not just here but the world as well!

I think I need to say something here.
1. To have AIN Games we need bidders. I will adjust the requirments, but we still need some help from you, guys. It's a special event for the union and yet, no one wants to host it.
2. We need do discuss about the number of events. Maybe one of the vote days at this summit.
3. You all have to complete the PAS, because we need as many participants as possible. I am going to change the points available for everyone. The older members will get more points than the new ones. You will also get more points if you're active and. Dependencies will get a smaller ammount of points, etc.
4. We don't need massive ceremonies to have great Games. However, I think we need a professional system of displaying the results, like the Simlympics or Peter's Petrolympics. A Photoshop guy is needed for this job...
5. Do you think we need a torch relay ? Personally, I think it will be great because we all get to do something for the Games.

Re: Day 4: AIN Games, C.O.I, Judicial Court, Member Activeness
1. This is true but after the first games it died and we didn't hear anything of it until today so that's not the issue.
2. I agree, we need to dedicate a day of this summit I think to just these games.
3. Agreed but we need to set it up
4. True, and once again this is my big pet peeve, we need the venues I don't wanna see a great opening ceremony and then the same 3 venues for the next 2 weeks.
5. I don't think it's necessary yet, lets get the games first then the details.

This is true, but our bids have been hap-hasard and unpalnned, we need to focus on bids for February as a union, now! not in January or December but through to October we should be putting the finishing touches on them in January. That was our downfall in the other games

Either one, If we use the games as a touch up point for either the joint bid with Nate and Max or for myself (maybe they have the indoors I'll take the mountain events or reverse so we can both have touch up points)
I think if we are going to use them as a touch up for the February games it should be in Late November early December so we have time to fix what went wrong.

I think this, like the CIB has sort of lost its urgence and it's value. We've shown an ability to police ourselves as needed and the admins have been good in keeping to the rules and not needing to be involved themselves in issues. I say the Judicial system and the CIB both sort of go into Hiatus.

Well I think we need to keep up with events, everything else is upto the people who are hear. We need to respond to things we can't just sit here and read them. I'm guilty of this as much as anyone. You need to respond to posts.

AIN Games:
I think I'm one of the reason why it died (did you remember that Rafforsia [then Raffore Islands] pull out of the July AIN Games?).
All I can say is that I'm only 100% free in mid-November onwards and I will definitely bid for the AIN Games from mid-November onwards if I fit into the requirements and regulations.
Chamber of Intelligence:
Great idea!
Judicial Court:
Sorry but I don't have a full idea on what it should do. COFR have a court too and it is only strictly for role-playing. So far, COFR Court had one such case: me and Mike once had to fought with each other due to me vetoing one of the Charter as that Charter abolish Capital Punishment. The verdict is that Capital Punishment will stay. In summary, the whole court process is fun. So maybe we could have such Court for role-playing purposes.
Member Activeness:
Maybe all of us can post simple one-word comment, although it's somewhat spamming and non-constructive, but this is what I always do. XD
Maybe we could introduce an incentive system for those who are active so that members could feel encourage to be more active.

Ok, so basically our options for the judicial court is to have it on haitus or to have it strictly role play?

4. Just to clarify, you don't need to have photoshop in order to host the games, so if you want to host the games but have no clue how to or have photoshop, then you can still bid and host the games! We have a photoshop team here at AIN (me, nate and a couple others), so we would be glad to help out!
5. The torch relay is something unique to the simlympics and the olympics. The ISC already got mad with the whole copying the simylmpics stuff to the ain games, so doing a torch relay might not be a good idea.... Also, a reminder, the rings are no longer part of the AIN Games logo with the request of the ISC.

Yeah, you're right, bad idea. Just so you know, our symbol since the June Games is the dove.Peter wrote:5. The torch relay is something unique to the simlympics and the olympics. Just to take note, the Olympics ring is actually a copyrighted symbol/logo. There was once one of my image got deleted cuz it contains the Olympics logo.

If someone finds out, yeah.
All it needs is someone to sabotage them.
