What is it?
The Simlympics is a prestigious event which brings the concept of the Olympics to the sim city world. The games occurs several times throughout the year. To this date over 100 countries all over sim world and all major sim city unions are currently participating in the games. The main site of the games is http://simsports.darkbb.com/simlympics-c1/


Participation | PAS
Partipating is easy. There are two easy things you need to do to make sure that your country is in the next simlympics and how you can get a medal!

The first step is signing up. If you have already signed up for a previous games, then you don't need to sign up! But if you haven't signed up, you may copy and complete the following form below and we will sign you up!

The second step is for you to make sure that your country earns a medal. PAS stands for Points Allocation System, in which you can allocated points to your desired Simlympic event which will result in higher chances of your country getting medals for that specific event. What's Happening Now | Winter Games 2010
The second winter simlympiad in February is the next simlympics. The winter games only happen once a year, so this simlympics is very special. Be there to participate in it!

Bidding. Interested in hosting? No problem! Bidding starts in November 1 and will end sometime in December/January, where the host will be announced. A winter BAT pack will be released by the ISC(International Simlympic Committee) on November 1. In order to host the winter games, or any simlympic games, an interested city must bid for that simlympiad. This is the link to place your bid in(Note: You can't really place your bid until November 1, but please feel free to make a bid prepation thread in the Possible Future Bids Section) . Here are the requirements to bid to host the 2010 winter games:



The Winter Simlympics are just like the Summer games so you know what we're looking for.

Venues List
Ice Hockey - Indoor Arena
Curling - Smaller arena or outdoor curling court (Curling is usually 10 lanes on a rink)
Figure Skating - Indoor Arena (Separate from Hockey)
Short Track Speed Skating - Same Arena as Figure Skating
Speed Skating - A speed skating oval could be a larger arena or stadium (domed or not)
Biathalon - Long flat section for cross country with stations for the rifle portions
Snowboarding - Mountain slalom course for ski-ing (Course to be added later, just show us where it'd be located)
Alpine-Slalom, Giant Slalom, Super G - All use roughly the same course (Also to be added later, just show us where it'd be located)
Ski-Jumping - (Jumps to be added later, just show us where it'd be located)
Freestyle events - (Jumps/Gates etc to be added later, just show us where it'd be located)


Athlete's Village
Media Centre
Stadium suitable for Opening and Closing Ceremonies
Obviously a winter climate with some Mountains
Hotels, Other Attractions and Shots of the City of Course
Transportation



What's Happening Later | XII Simlympiad (May 2010)
Bidding Interested in hosting the May 2010 summer simlympic games? Get ready because bidding season for the May games begin March 1! But please feel free to start preparing for your bids!
