Day 1 - Laptops & Computers

Introduction
Welcome to the first official minor summit. Here we will discuss topics that are of common interest, concern or question. The first summit will be held in Chihiro, Petrova and we will be discussing techonology. Minor summits don't require formal opening and closing ceremonies, however the host may choose to do one. And of course, summit rules apply to the minor summit (respect everyone, no profanity, etc). Interested hosts may bid at any time in the bids section located in the Union Summit's forum.

Format
Minor summits range from 5-20 days depending on the subject/theme/discussion. Like the major summit, there will be a topic for each day and members discuss that topic or question. However, there will be no voting at the end of this summit.

Day 1 Discussion: Laptops & Computers
Computers and laptops have shaped the way society lives today. With that in mind, there are a variety of computers, laptops and other devices that help us, or entertain us, or just simply make life easier. From Windows to Apple, Dell to Toshiba, there are different types of computers. Here are some questions to think about and discuss:

• What do you look for in buying a laptop or computer?
  
• If you can design a computer, what feature would you put it in that you haven't seen yet in any computer?

totally PC... there are so many more programs that are compatible with pc that aren't with mac.

also i think desktops are better than laptops because you can get about twice the hard drive, ram, graphics card, etc. as a laptop for about the same price.

OS System, I think Windows XP? I don't know. Both XP and Vista have its own flaws.
Mac or PC, I would say PC.
Computer brand? Don't know.
Laptop brand? Vaio, but only for being part of Sony (I'm somewhat pro-Sony XD)
Computer or laptop, I would say PC.
What do I look for? Nothing. As long it can store tons of memory and have up-to-date requirements, that's good enough for me. HD monitors are a plus too me. [Laser] mouse and keyboard, as long it's workable, I'm fine with it.

Ok. The best OS...I would say XP or Windows 7. I tried both, but W7 has some compatibility issues, so XP.
Mac or PC. Mac looks nice and attractive, but PC is better.
Computer brand or Laptop brand. I don't mind the brand if the PC/laptop is good.
Computer or laptop. If you don't care about performance, laptop is the best.
If you want 1TB of HDD and 8GB of RAM, it has to be the PC

i think once windows 7 has been out a little longer more things will become compatible with it.

For me, I love the way leopard looks, love how there's no viruses, but I still go for PC's because of the more functionality windows have(games, software) that arent compatible with macs.
