Re: Atrubia for DOT-Address
Looks great! Just wondering, what were some of the DOT things you did at LoN?

Re: Atrubia for DOT-Address
Here are some of the guidelines I will introduce, if not already introduced.
Taxiways and Runways Official Spacing Guideline
- All taxiiways should be at least 4-5 tiles (at least) apart to avoid aircraft conact.
- Runways should be 10 tiles apart to further avoid aircraft contact and to avoid any possible sudden change in wind.
- For the new LAE (Large Airport Edition) runways coming up by the AC team, the runways are 10 tiles apart, the same as the SAE (Small Airport Edition). This is put down after every single taile for the runway is placed.
High Speed Rail Transition Guidline
- At any El-HSR to GHSR transition there should be at least 6-8 (recommended) tiles before any curvature in the tracks. By following this there is a lesser chance of derailment due to too high of a speed. This is for only non-15m transitions.
- At any GHSR to El-HSR transition there should be at least 4 (recommended) tiles before any curvature in the tracks. By following this there is a lesser chance of derailment due to too high of a speed. The reason it is lower is that the train will slow down a bit going up the incline. This is for only non-15m transitions.
Key:
El-HSR - Elevated High Speed Rail
GHSR - Ground High Speed Rail
Heavy Rail Network Guidelines
- Smoothe rail curves are encouraged but not required.
- Rail to Rail sandard maxis transition is fine.

That default one by maxis is fine in tight areas and such.
*Curve guildlines for the HSR apply here as well.*
Highway Offramp Length Guideline
Hello everyone. This thread is to set an example for all highway offramps and onramps of the RHW (Rural Highway Mod). These would allow cars to slow down for upcoming intersections and to merge onto highways a a reasonable speed. However, these are all affected by the highway size. For example:
RHW-2: Minimum of three tiles before intersection/highway merge
RHW-4: Minimum of 4 tiles before intersection/highway merge.
RHW-6 & 6C: Minimum of 5 tiles before intersection/highway merge.
RHW-8:Minimum of 5 tiles before intersection/highway merge.
RHW-10: Minimum of 6 tiles before intersection/highway merge.
Now, these mean six tiles on either end (merging into and getting off). NOT in all. However, this is just a guideline and not a requirement. But it would help keep your population more safe.
Port Guidelines
- All channels leading to and from ports shall be at a minimum of 40 feet deep at all times and a minimu of 300 feet wide. Dredging may be required in some cases.
- All ports inland of more than a few miles should offer a pilot for the cruise ship.
- All channels shall be equipped with the proper bouy markers (ex: PEG's bouy markers).
- Bridge height shall be at a minimum of 431 feet (131 m). This is to ensure all league ships may get through at a minimum height. Tunnels may be substituted for bridges. (ex FLUPs)

Re: Atrubia for DOT-Address
I have always wondered this when you made those guidelines, but how can you tell when water is 40 ft deep?

Re: Atrubia for DOT-Address
When you cant see the bottom very well is a good estimate I would guess.

Re: Atrubia for DOT-Address
The bottom, you mean the sand down the water? My RHW isn't working, any ideas of what I missed? (don't think it's deps)

Re: Atrubia for DOT-Address
By the bottom I do mean the sand, I should post a pic for reference. Your RHW isn't working? Hmm... Try uninstalling it and re-installing it, or it could be that you have an outdated NAM and a more updated RHW.

Re: Atrubia for DOT-Address
More ideas from me:
- Use Atrubia's money to upgrade current transportation networks.
- Help any and all countries establish better roads and upkeep of those roads.
- Establish better roads to all rural areas within countries.
- Upgrade transportation infrastructure to a point where it isn't overcrowded.
- Establish trade routes.
