Day 8-10: AIN Constitution

AIN Constitution

(Sorry for the delay you guys!) Today we will be discussing the AIN Constitution. I think that its imperative that we establish our rules on "paper" and by that we should have all the AIN rules and information on one thread. Topics such as Membership, Events, Job Positions, AIN Objectives, and such.


What topics should we talk about? Should it be called a different name?

Some topics that I think we should talk about:

Union/Forum Rules
About the House of Administration(describing each job)
Terms of Office
About the Events(describing the different events of AIN)
About AIN Features(describe features of AIN such as spaces)
Union Wars/Conflict
Actions of Admins(what to do if this or that happens)

do you mean by union war/conflict inter union or with other unions?

Some topics that I think we should talk about:

AIN Membership
- If you guys give me the OK I'd like to make a test for membership. Just an open book test that would resolve some of the issues we ran into with Giaus; just a history of the AIN and some basic culture questions about each country so that incoming members will not have the same level of ignorance that lead to the conflicts before.

Union/Forum Rules
- We have written rules

About the House of Administration(describing each job)
-Very important, I don't even know what my job is to be honest.

Terms of Office
-1 year

About the Events(describing the different events of AIN)
-That would be upto Nate?

About AIN Features(describe features of AIN such as spaces)
-Again either upto Peter or Nate

Union Wars/Conflict
-This would be upto the CIB if Nate would like to reinstate it

Actions of Admins(what to do if this or that happens)
-Like what a punishment for rule breaking? I think the policy of case by case basis has worked well so far and has been tested.

I meant both actually . Like if two or more countries from AIN went to war with each other. Or one or more AIN countries went to war with countries from a different union.

AIN Membership: I agree with the test, but maybe lets not have the countries of AIN culture part. I think that we'll make an article on the wiki for them to read about the history of AIN, then we'll give then the open book test. But if we make them "study" the cultures of AIN countries, then it will prolly make the incoming member feel like they have a lot of work to do. Another thought is that we should have a higher level of critieria. I think that we are at the point where we need to have prestigiousness when it comes to membership. For example, SCJU is known for their tough membership rules and all that eye candy required. Well I think that we should higher our standards when it comes to choosing whether or not to approve a member. Like not as intense as SCJU or COFR, but I think that AIN is at the point where let's not just say yes to any country.

Terms of Office: During the first summit, we already discussed that admins and heads get 6 months and such.



***Keep in mind people that basically a lot of the topics I've posted we've established in the first summit, we just need to put them all together in one huge thread for easy access and read. So the topics above, we dont need to vote on or anything, we just need to think of what to put in the constitution. The constitution is basically like a manual of AIN, it will talk about the in's and out's of AIN.

AIN Membership
I'm fine with the Membership Test and the open book type test.
And for the Criteria Level, I'm fine with it. Just don't set it too high.

Terms of Office
Maybe we could have it once every 6 months instead of per year?

The others, I'm fine in having them included into the Constitution Rules.

Ok, so there's currently a rough draft in the works located in the House of Administration. All the member of AIN are welcome and encouraged to help write it

We can still add topics and stuff to talk about as well.
