Escambia vs. Ronald Gates

As the judge, I will sentenced anyone according to the law depending on the decision of the jury.

So Mr. Saathoff said that Gates assasinated the late President Louis, but proposed a lighter sentence should Gates confess that he assasinated the late President.

On the other hand, Mr. Gallaway said that Gates was a scapegoat and it was someone else who assasinated the late President.

From what I have understand, Mr. Gallaway have mentioned that someone, possibly a particular group, have phoned Gates informing Gates not to leave the house on the assasination date.

In this case, is there any evidence that Gates received a phone call, either through his home phone or his cell phone, from anyone on the day in question or on any other dates?

Also, did Gates mention anything that he will be made to be a scapegoat?

No sir. He had no phone records on the day or the days before or after the killing. His last call was to his work. And after consulting the person who received the call they said it was just a question a about a promotion they were doing. Your honor like i said this is a clear cut case.

My client has confessedto writing the death threat and killing the president. Now about the sentencing...

Since Gates is guilty of the assasination of the late Escambian President Louis, according to the law, Gates will be sentenced to live imprisonment or sentenced to death, depending on the decision of Escambia.

If there are no further discussion, the jury will now take a vote (voting will begin once the poll is set up).

Escambia wishes to to make his sentence 30 years max. And be eligible for parole after serving at least 2/3 of his sentence.

The members of the jury have decided and 3 out of 4, or 75% majority, have agreed that Gates is guilty of the assasination of the late Escambian President Loius.

Gates will therefore be sentenced to 30 years imprisonment, with an eligible parole after Gates serve 20 years of his sentence.

Thank you Aran. On behalf of the Escambian Government i would to thank the jury for putting this man into jail for his crime. Also id like to thank Mr. Robert Gates for confessing his crime. It takes much courage to admit the murder of a high official or anyone for that matter. Im glad you did that. And again i thank you.
