Re: Day 17 - 18
Thomas - we had a HUGE debate about this. Death by firing squad is considered torture.

Re: Day 17 - 18
I never said it wasn't torture - but surely injecting somebody is also torture?
Both killing by injection and firing squad can take the same amount of time, and both are psychological torture.

Thomas - for the record, I am against the death penalty under any circumstances. I find it completely inhumane and it has absolutely no place in civilised society. The current wording of the constitution was a compromise after what was a very heated debate between those for and against the death penalty. Personally, I don't like it. I would like a prohibition on the death penalty. I would also like to win lotto.

Re: Day 17 - 18
I'm not a fan of the death penalty, but in some cases the safety of a nation requires it. The threat of it is needed to deter people. It may not deter extremist "martyrs of Islam", but it may deter rapists, murderers and other despised members of the public.

Before I answer the Discussion Questions, Fornax does not practice execution by any means. Fornax is a Carolinism (a fictional Christianity demonination) country and all Carolinist believe that no one are to kill its own brothers and sisters (or its own kind or their fellow human to some Carolinist) as they are a Creation of God, the Lord of the Kingdom of Heaven.

Re: Day 17 - 18
whew you boys certainly know how to suck the fun out of something... there is no Death Penalty in Ascadylea, except for Dianne Monroe who tried to assassinate Queen Annagret, by poison in 1950. She was beheaded and her head was placed in the courtyard of the Palace for all to see.

In Lydosia, the most popular way to do the execution is: The Knife Machine. This is to use the number of knive equal to the number of victims of the offender (if the Supreme Court decides, as all capital crimes will be tried and retried transferred to the Supreme Court) and add them to the machine that goes all used against the prisoner. Is it legal to the AIN constitution?
Yes

Blakeway - No, the "knife machine" is most certainly against the constitution. It is definitely torture and a horrible method at that.
Thomas - If the death penalty really was an effective deterrent, no Americans or Chinese would be murdered or raped.

Re: Day 17 - 18
It wouldn't deter every murderer or rapist, but it's a threat.
Like I said, I don't mind having Firing Squad removed, but personally I think it should remain legal.
