This is the last segment before the general elections and the summit voting begins Saturday. This is your chance to talk about things that we didn't talk about in the summit, or reiterate/review past discussions we've talked about in the summit. Please say your comments, suggestions, concerns and questions about anything pertaining to AIN!

I was just thinking that we don't have a hockey competition. I know Max was doing one, but that seems to have stagnated. I should have posted this in the events thread, but I just thought of it.

I was thinking something like the World Cup - a yearly (or twice yearly) tournament where national teams play off against each other.

Any thoughts?

I was also going to suggest league for sports like skiing and skating like the current world cups.

Okay. I'll tentatively organise a hockey tournament for... say... April. I'll put it up in the events portal. As always, it will be open for bidding and the admins will select the winner. I'm happy to do the background work for it.

I. Like. Cheerleading. Lol. This all sounds like a pretty good idea, and since everyone agrees, I would lke to bring up another topic that I would like to share with the AIN. There is an annual Expo coming up in my Atrubia, although far from starting, this could be a real nice event. Its far from even beginning to start, but I may want to include it as a hosting thing that everyone in the AIN could eventually host. Anyways, I'm sure that most of you have heard of the annual boat show here in the US (and I think other countries), I did something similar last year. On my old region it was called the "Islandia Watercraft Expo." This is similar to what it woud be called, but since there is no "Islandia" anymore, the name will most likely to be changed to the "AIN Boat Show" or something similar. Atrubia would (most likely) host the first because I would like to make some changes to what I had done last time around. I would, of course, make up the requirements, etc because it is my event and Atrubia's own making. But, if you take a look at the first opening, all leaders and representatives were treated with the utmost respect and were having the time of their lives. Although only a five-day event, the time would most likely be lengthened to ten (10) days long. Not all countries have to participate in the event, as it is completely their choice. But I would like to see some interest. Anyways, what I intended to be a small post now turned into this whole big one. Lol. Anyways, enough of my never-ending ideas. Back to opinions and idea sharing!

I think a Union Track and Field Conference should be set up. With a corresponding Invitational that is host-able.

2.1 - No offensive language or...

May I ask if there is a particular reason for this being in place (the offensive language bit). Oersonally I think 'offensive' language should be permitted within the forums as long as it is not used towards members or their work (or certain racist/sectarian phrases deemed so by the admin team)

Well Neil that isnt changing thats for sure. We can't let it be allowed cause then it gets abused. And our union looks bad

I'm on another forum where offensive language is allowed, and the atmosphere is horrible, so tense. It's not a good idea to allow it.

And for some reason, when I go on the forums but don't read each thread that's new, I return a few minutes later and they're all marked as read? It's really annoying - is there a way to change that?

yeh, I think it's a good idea. Maybe 5 days would be better, don't drag it out.

I need it too. Because of my slow connection, I need 2 hours to read them all.

Ok, I have a discussion that I feel is important. It was about promoting/demoting eye candy is CJs here.

My take was that we should be balanced.....some eye candy; but we shouldn't forget functionality. What do you guys think?

Yeah, it should be 20% eyecandy and 80 % funtional.

I agree - it shouldn't all be eyecandy. There should be some realism and functions, otherwise it wouldn't be realistic.
