As the cure of the mutated STS strain has been found, the Department of Education, Safety and Health will no longer search for a vaccine.

According to the Fornaxian Ministry of Health, it is confirmed that there is a communal outbreak within the city of Sypogen, Fornax. The Public Health Alert is now on Orange. No confirmed mutated STS strain cases reported in other parts of Fornax.

As of 5 July 2010 at 21:00 UTC +11, there are a total of 127 confirmed cases. Here's the data collected since the first confirmed case on 30 June 2010.

Atlantic Federation, July 5, 2010.
Yesterday night, a plane arrived from the Pacific, containing a man infected with the mutated STS Strain. Although, we are not talking about an accident. It was an attempt to commit BIOTERRORISM.

A private jet came from the east and landed at the September 26Th Airport, a smaller airport made for business men and private jets, on Liberators City. Carl E. Searge was on the plane, and was infected with the STS. Suspects are he illegally entered the isolation areas on Shushtrepistaz and made contact with the victims of the strain. The plane was extremely cold by inside, 10°C (50°F). And that was what saved the 11,200,000 inhabitants of the Liberators City.

Mark Jalre, was visiting the tower of the airport with his son, as his brother works there. The boy was showing his uncle the new device he bought on Moscow, a thermal scope from an weapon, that his father, a hunter, got from there. His uncle took a look on the planes with the scope, just to show the kid interest in his new “toy”. But then he noticed: the windows of a small jet on the third gate were completely dark, while you could see red dots and a yellow background inside the other planes. The dark blue inside that plane was equal to 50°F. No passenger plane is refrigerated to be that cold. Something was wrong. A woman on the tower mentioned that 50°F is the ideal temperature to slow down the infection caused by the STS Strain, and the airport security called the anti biohazard squad.

Using the protection clothing mentioned by the AIN, the squad entered the plane, and found false documents of Shushtrepistaz, Fornax, Aleksania, Escambia and Tirnreich. These boxes with fake mutated STS Strain were also found on the plane.

The police suspects that whoever tried to organize this attack wanted to test his plan on the Liberators City, as it is very dense, and populated, it would be almost impossible - maybe impossible - to stop the infection on such a big city.

Due to this attempt, all the non-military airports will close, only the Ollingdalean and Fairview's military jetfighters are allowed to land. Ports will be also closed for 1 week until all the ships are checked.

Althogh how the man got infected, or what group he belongs is still a mistery. The man died 20 minutes after the police entered the plane, but the group could still use his body as source, or use the false flasks to demand money from the government or yet, menace people with them.
We demand priority on the cure distribution, just in case this same group try another similar attack in our territory. We strongly recomend all AIN member nations to close the Airports and reinforce the security and keep an anti-biohazard team ready to respond if called in massive centers. It was a close call, yet we don't know the conditions of the STS found on the plane, and if it would still be effective after a flight from somewhere on the Pacific. The pilot told us they left from ERC, but the systems of the plane shows a different time of flight, corresponding to somewhere east from Hong Kong and west from Shushtrepistaz.

Following the failed biological terrorism attempt on Liberators City, we would like to inform all AIN countries to keep a close look out for possible biological terrorism attacks.

Despite the plead made by the Atlantic Federation, the Department does not recommend the temporary closure of all international airports. However, if your country feels that it is a neccessary move, the Department will not hold you back.

Escambia & Ceará Islands have one reported case. This person was from Fornax. The person has been quarteened and sent back to Fornax. This person poses no threat the Escambian and Ceará Island health safetly. Both nations have banned YoGo Yogurt. Till the STS strain stops. Citizens from expected nations with the strain will be tested apon arrive in our nation. Otherwise this epidemic has been downgraded in Escambia & Ceará Islands. As currently we do not see it as a thread to our health

The spread of the mutated STS strain is amongst the highest of people aged 20 and below. Due to this, with immediate effect, the Ministry of Education announced that all educational institutions, whether government, government-funded or private, must be close until further notice. Playschools are also affected by this measure.

According to the Ministry of Health, the reason for the extreme spreading of te epidemic is due to the people's ignorance of wearing a surgical mask to protect themselves. The public responded by saying that they don't want another Swine Flu Scare, which almost cause Fornax to tumble into a financial crisis in 2009. Also, with the Fornaxian Authorities ordering a high number of STS cures have eased the people's mind.

The Ministry of Transport will step up all medical checks and observations. Passengers arriving from the countries listed under the Nation Watchout List will have to go through temperature checks.

So, according to the ages we can think two things about these STS virus:

-STS atacks young people because they have not the same imunity as adults;

OR

-Adults are taking more healthy cares with STS (eg: washing hands oftenly)

Corraile has had a total of 6 cases, all of them travellers from affected countries (except Aleksania). They are

2 Fornaxians
1 Thai
3 Xenians

Corraile currently has them quarantined on Xavia Island, which is accessible by boat and helicopter. Upon recovering from the STS virus strain, they are permitted to return to their home countries, and cannot stay in Corraile for more that 2 days after discharge unless an official reason from the respective government has been issued.

The Arcacian Department of Health has distributed 270,000 doses of STS multivalent vaccine to GPs across the country. So far, the take-up rate is very encouraging with herd immunity expected to be achieved within 2 weeks.

The vaccine is free to anyone in Arcacia, including visitors. All athletes here for the AIN Games have been vaccinated.

The ADH has also produced a surplus of the vaccine and has 34,000 extra doses of the vaccine, which covers all strains, available to anyone who wants them. They will be shipped free of charge.

For humanitarian reasons, these vaccines are not subject to the trade embargo on Aleksania, Fornax and Shustrepistaz.

The New South Wales Department of Health reports that no cases have been reported there. This has also been the case in the Australian Capital Territory, Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland and South Australia. Western Australia and the Northern Territory are not considered at risk.

4 million doses have been produced by Australia and they are expected to produce 16 million more. Take up rates in Australia are encouraging, though there is resistance to the vaccine in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales and the Eastern suburbs of Sydney.

Arcacia has tightened border controls at the border with Australia which is adjacent to the Northern Rivers.

25,000 doses have been sent to Lycanthia with all school children vaccinated and take-up rates among adults very encouraging with herd immunity expected to be achieved within the week.

Lycanthia has 2,000 surplus doses available to anyone who wants them.

In total, there are 36,000 doses available for immediate shipment. Australian authorities will make a statement about surplus once the vaccine has been fully distributed.

At 03:46, 8 July 2010, the Fornaxian Authorities have received the cures for the mutated STS strain. All cures will be distributed to Sypogen first for a vaccination test, before distributing to the other cities on 9 July.

Vaccination will begin at 10:00 at selected medical clinics and hospitals around Sypogen.

Off-topic: The mutated STS strain background story have allow me to create a new story for Fornax. Expect a very interesting, yet dark and scary story later today on July 8. Just to interest you all, it will be about an uncontrollable epidemic. Smile
