President Chuan returns to Cattala as a military alliance is formed

President Kelvin Chuan of Corraile is continuing his second tour of Cattala since the Kingdom joined the AIN, with a visit to the island's largest military barracks in Quentin. News broke earlier this morning of a vital alliance between Cattala, Corraile and Galbadia that will grant the Royal and Holy Kingdom participation in the FT-17 Falken LIFT Trainer Project. Today President Chuan is meeting the Foreign Minister and the Defence Minister in Calora, to continuing discussing a deeper military alliance between the two former colonies.

Yesterday evening the President became the first AIN leader to visit Cattala and Rhodes at the same time, following the union of the two nations. He expressed his sadness upon hearing of the death of Prince Julien last month, and discussed the tragic death of the first President of Corraile, who's funeral he attended that morning.
President Chuan is meeting Queen Alexandra this evening for dinner and will tomorrow meet Lord Anthony Secolo for political discussions before returning to Corraile in the late afternoon.

President Lima visits Cattala for key military discussions

President Lima and Lord Secolo visited a major military exhibition in Central Cattala on Saturday

President Leandro Lima of Galbadia visited Cattala over the weekend during a week of key military discussions for both countries. Early on Sunday the new training jet that will be operated by both countries was revealed to the world, and the military alliance between the two nations was officially revealed. The President is the first communist leader to visit the country in over a decade.
Lima arrived early on Saturday morning MET and was greeted by the Defence Minister and Lord Celestine, before he visited a military exhibition in Central Cattala. The President had lunch with the three Salvatore Secretaries, Lord Huttington-Brown, Dr Sylvia Nevinson and General Victore, before travelling to Celeste for a meeting with Queen Alexandra in the King Marco Hall, near Parliament.
On Sunday, Lord Celestine continued diplomatic discussions with the Galbadian leader before the pair visited a naval dock which was being upgraded ahead of the construction of Cattala's crucial aircraft carrier, which will also be available for Galbadian jets.

Cattala reaches landmark deals with Oceanic states

Today, the 6th December 2010, Lord Secolo met with President Raffaele of Arcacia and Prime Minister Rush of Calaré in Jennai to officially become a signatory of the Providence Accord, meaning that Cattala has pledged it’s allegiance to the defence of Calaré and Arcacia, both of whom have no national military to protect them. Cattala joins the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States, Corraile and New Zealand amongst other signatories of the Accord.
Lord Secolo was quoted afterwards saying “This is a historic moment for our kingdom. Cattala recognises Calaré and Arcacia’s dedication to the protection of endangered species and the human rights of all citizens of the world, and we support their aspirations for a safer and more democratic world. Offering our military protection means that these two nations will remain secure into the future, and will deter terrorism that has affected the heart of all nations over the past two decades.”
President Raffaele welcomed the deal, and added that “Arcacia will continue to be protected by our close allies into the future, and we are very glad that Cattala has joined the Providence Accord.”

Alongside the Accord, President Nathan Rush of Calaré announced plans to build a port that will allow Cattala’s Antarctic/Oceanic fleets to base itself permanently in the country, rather than move between Australia and the Falklands every six months. Currently Cattala operates a fleet of frigates and destroyers from Stanley in the Falkland Islands, but after the six month cycle is completed they will move to Calaré in a new permanent base.

Economics was also high on the agenda during the three-day summit in Jennai, and Cattala has now joined a Free Trade Agreement with Calaré, Lycanthia and Arcacia. A free trade area has been opened between all four nations, which analysts say will reduce the barriers to trade and investment between the Oceanic states and the Holy Regno. Cattala has been increasingly interested in the technology and science sectors that are key to Arcacia’s economy, and Government sources explained that the fibre optic internet technology Arcacia uses will be key to the modernisation of Cattala’s rural broadband infrastructure.
