Monte Calida Province
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Chapter I: Looking to Grow
Welcome to the Cattala (Cat-ah-la)
This area of my Journal will focus on natural growth, and will be the only part of the Journal that is unplanned and unprepared.
Seina is a new village, recently created after the Cattala railway was built across the island. The soil in Seina is perfect for agriculture, so most people in the area work as farmers.
The centre of the village is the high street, which is home to a small number of local shops and is where the SeinaDairy Corporation sells a majority of its produce.
The residents association recently gave the green light for local resident Harrison Toyota to expand his farm further south.
And the town’s resident builder, Luke Jones, also asked for permission to build a new residential street, and has been sticking leaflets up around the high street to get public support for his bid.
The residents association draws up maps for the future expansion of the village every month to submit to the Government of Cattala. You can see Florence Street, some new farms and smaller commercial plans.
But the Residents Association also wants a new building to discuss planning applications and other matters, and is hoping to build a Community Centre over the next few months to help this.

Chapter II: Tracks of Success
Welcome back to the Kingdom of Cattala, and the village of Seina.
Many of the projects you saw last time have gone through – the Toyota farm has been built and Florence Street is finished.
The residents association also has its own, private Community Centre near the high street now.
But the biggest new development in the village is of the new railway station, which means that Seina is now part of the rail network leading to the large town of Calora.
A village school was demanded by local residents, as the population continued to expand. So the Association has started invested in a public services area, where policing, fire services, education and healthcare are all based.
Meanwhile, some English immigrants have opened up traditional shops on the edge of town, employing mostly residents from nearby Florence Street.
Demand for housing has risen dramatically in Seina, and the Residents Association has allowed for 2 new streets to be built, with work currently underway.

The sunflowers look really nice with that older, "tuscan" feel to your town. Nice work!

Wow, so many replies already! :!!:
k50 dude: That's exactly what I was going for when I made this village, I went to Tuscany a couple of years ago and it was so beautiful, I tried to recreate it here.
Julien: Thank you!
Sky Guy: Thanks for commenting, I'm glad you liked it.
Spy9600: Thank you, I think it really sums up Cattala with the combination of traditional Mediterranean charm and British imperial styling as well.

Re: Monte Calida Province
Welcome to the village of Seina, in the central region of Cattala. Seina is currently a small community, and in these updates we’ll study the growth of the area.
This is the village overview, from a small plane on loan from Aldoak Airport. Currently there are 64 residents in the town, with some working in the local farms and shops, and others commuting into Calora and Jennai via the M4.
The only commercial properties in Seina are the village stores, which sell local produce from the farms, such as olives and milk, and general goods that are bought in from the rest of Cattala. Residents need to travel to Calora to find their nearest supermarket and larger shops.
The Brumella farm has been in the Brumella family for hundreds of years, and is one of the oldest buildings in the village. Recently a new member of the family took over control of the farm. He lives in Jennai, and is an industrial magnate at one of the shipyards.
Out in the country, away from the main village, is a large mansion that was also once owned by the Brumella family. Now the house is owned by the former chief executive of Sky Cattala, the country’s largest media organisation.

This is the new version of Seina, as I've mentioned before elsewhere I've decided to rebuild it. I'm much happier with the new one. This is also the first update I've done using my new laptop and Office 2010, which has improved image editing capabilities. I hope you enjoyed it.

Thanks Sky Guy and 976. (I am allowed to have an emoticon fight in my own city notebook )
I'm hoping to get another update over the next week - I've got a maths exam and two science exams this week, so I might be a bit less active.

Re: Monte Calida Province
Welcome back to Seina. As you can see, the village has expanded slightly since you last visited – there are now new homes, new farms and a small shopping area.
A new road of homes has been built just south of the village stores, Norman Street. The village is growing quickly, as road links improve and demand for housing rises.
The provincial Government also invested in a new medical centre for the residents of the growing village, and more residents moved in, including a new village doctor.
The Brumella family also had new neighbours – a local orange juice producer opened a new farm and farm store in Seina.
Despite opposition from the local stores, the development of a new market store went ahead on the edge of the village. It contains several food shops and a café. Business was taken away from the local-owned shops and angered community leaders.
Because of the new market shops, the village store owners worked together and signed an exclusive contract with Clementine Farm to sell their orange juice and other citrus fruit products. This gave them an edge over their new rivals. The competition had begun.
